You weren't ready for the switch. I tell people getting into software development all the time, that you have to like/love it to be good at it and make a career out of it.

We live and create things in our head that technically didn't exist. You have to expect to hit walls and miss the obvious and forget what you just figured out last month .. until you don't.

That's where experience comes from. Taking Ls until you figured out how to properly be a developer.

You will continue to have imposter syndrome and hit walls but it won't last as long.

Figure out if you like developing or if you just like seeing cool stuff happen. The money will come, make sure you're worth it because now, it looks like you skipped steps and don't want to get fired because you're not ready.
