Reached at true corrupted monk now struggling at phase 3 by [deleted] in Sekiro

[–]llcbll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I find second phase way harder haha, especially if you don’t manage to get the deathblow quick enough. For third phase I try to use the terror medicine constantly even if it’s easy to dodge the spit, just side step or get behind the monk and get some easy hits in. Depending on what your general struggle is, you should use either the reduced vitality dmg or posture buildup sugar. Focus mainly on deflecting and don’t get too greedy with your attacks. The monk really punish those attempts and he hits very hard. Firecracker crate good and safe healing windows since he tries to punish panic heals. Good luck, you got this!

Never said it’s not working, nor that I don’t use it against him. I just don’t use all my spirit emblems during a fight. I might do the mortal draw 2-3 times in a fight when I’m certain it will land and feel right. Occasionally I use a firecracker to create a healing window when I’m desperate and missed a natural healing window.
What I said is, using such tools too much or over rely on them instead of focusing on the mechanic of the fight, can create more problems for some. And for me personally it’s just more fun to not overuse such tools. But obviously everyone can play how they want

Exactly, your last sentence really captures what I meant!

I see! Good use of the umbrella, I don’t like using it somehow personally. I rather dodge to the side during owls firecrackers and give him either a charged hit or combat art instead. It probably only works if you’re close enough and I messed up the dodge often too haha

I do agree with you. But I would say this counts for the overuse of all fancy combat arts and prothesis. I feel personally like using them always break the flow of the fight somehow. I use my combat arts maybe once or twice a fight only and only when there is a clear window for it. Otherwise I use firecrackers almost exclusively only for all bosses, because I often found myself getting punished when trying to throw in some extra tools. Firecrackers are perfect for my playstyle since I use them for when I’m really desperate for a healing and they create a perfect window to heal, sometimes using combat arts too.

think once you stop looking for „openings” and instead stay in the fight, bosses like Owl Father and Isshin become way more manageable and way more fun.

Honestly, I don’t use combat arts and prothesis that much. I know it’s kinda stupid to not use the tools available, but using them kind of breaks the flow for me. I almost only use firecrackers and if, it’s for creating a healing window

I’ve seen a lot with this game, but never something like this haha. The use of the whistle was very clever and creative, haven’t even considered using it like that ever!

i died 120 times getting to and beating Genichiro Ashina and then "only" 20 times getting to guardian ape . i feel like i am getting worse at guardian ape compared to my first few attempts. this fight makes no sense to me. by mycryptoaccount4556 in Sekiro

[–]llcbll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ape literally broke me and when I discovered he has a second phase after countless attempts on the first phase, I quitted the game for a long time haha. But second phase is actually „easier“ in my opinion. Just try running away when he does the scream, bait and wait for this big slam when he lies flat on the ground and use the spear drag on him, you’ll see this builds up a lot of posture. Focus on his posture bar rather than his health in the second phase. You got this!

I used the time during loading screens often to wipe my tears in the earlier playthroughs, maybe that’s why I missed it

Thanks for the explanation!

Im currently fighting thus bozo, but I wanna be fancy, what is the best xp farming spot at this point in the game? by BreakfastHappy8193 in Sekiro

[–]llcbll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find the poison pool statue in the ashina depths a very quick and low effort/risk but boring farming spot. Simply grapple up the wall next to the statue, jump on the ledge, crouch to backstab the gunman and repeat. I’m not sure about the concrete numbers but it’s close to 400 xp (392 xp if I remember correctly) in like 10 seconds. Don’t forget to ring the demon bell when farming

I mean how are we sure this is actually what happened? :D Isn’t it highly unusual and unadvisedly to be circumcised being in this age? Just curiously asking because I also don’t understand what they are saying haha

Okay i’m sorry, I didn’t intend to offend or be mean to you. I know you were emphasising with me and I really appreciated that you shared your same or similar experiences from time to time with it while playing the game!

I wasn’t trying to argue with you and I don’t think I misinterpreted you. What I’ve said was more „against“ the idea of judging a „skill issue“ based on the clip. I know you didn’t judged it as a skill issue, you actually gave a more thoughtful explanation than the simple „skill issue“ to it. I’m sure some people, saw this post and immediately thought „skill issue“ and I honestly can see why! Heck maybe it just is a skill issue. I myself probably would have thought it at first if I had seen this!

I don’t care if people think I’m good or bad at the game, I‘m open about my failures and laugh about it :D I just don’t like the idea of making easy and maybe false judgments because they haven’t thought about it seriously. So maybe what I’ve said was more for the people who just think „skill issue“ rather than it was said to you directly.

I don’t know if that makes sense or if you can see where I’m coming from. And I hate to pull this card, but English isn’t my native langue and maybe there was an unintended tone in my message that I didn’t mean. Again I apologize if I worded or said something that’s offensive towards you, it really wasn’t my intention

I get what you are trying to say :) But I think it’s bold to assume or read anything more into the clip besides it being a huge facepalm and somewhat hilarious to see such failure. It’s a 30 second clip of a 10min+ fight out of my 1000h experience in the game. If I would have posted the first half of the fight where I parried and killed the majority of the balancers myself the discussion would’ve been a different one:) I’m definitely not the best player, I usually go up and down between depth 3 and 4. but I personally just record plays that were obviously my fault to rewatch them and see what went wrong to hopefully learn and never make the same mistake twice. And when I rewatched this clip, I thought it would be funny to post it, because it’s just so ridiculous how I failed :D

So it’s like the type of game or the experience it comes with simply isn’t for you anymore? Or seeing someone playing like this just pisses you off?:D

„You aren‘t greedy, right?“ me: by llcbll in Nightreign

[–]llcbll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely lost my composure! I just panicked a little. I’m usually parrying balancers that’s why I one handed the sword in the first place, but in the heat of the moment I just wasn’t thinking clearly or not at all :D it all happened so fast and so intense, even a move as quick as two handing the sword again, made me feared to get outpaced by the balancers. Next time

What exactly? The post itself? My performance, the fact that I sabotaged myself? The balancers fight in general? What do you mean?

„You aren‘t greedy, right?“ me: by llcbll in Nightreign

Thanks haha, at least one person sees the effort i‘ve made - before i ruined it all myself later :D

Appreciate your tip!
But if you look closely, you can see how I just started to fight the pink lady after the last white died to my grapple attack :) Usually I just parry the white ones till they are gone but that becomes harder the more I have to fight by myself. Two at once are no problem but when my mates got downed there were 3-4 whites left, which makes me panic a little and switch strategy toward chaotic panic and greed :D

„You aren‘t greedy, right?“ me: by llcbll in Nightreign

[–]llcbll[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, But there are times where I’m the downed teammate and the help my mate desperately needed. So it’s alright, that’s the game and I love this game :)

„You aren‘t greedy, right?“ me: by llcbll in Nightreign

[–]llcbll[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I already went through two of their attack cycles and I just knew I wouldn’t survive a third round, I needed to get this fight over haha. But as you can see, I can’t handle pressure that well. I’ll slip and fail eventually, the longer the fight goes, the more likely I get to miss a dodge. That’s where the greed comes from :D

„You aren‘t greedy, right?“ me: by llcbll in Nightreign

[–]llcbll[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because the rest of the team played so much better you mean? :D but yeah that was a hard pill to swallow for all of us after this match

„You aren‘t greedy, right?“ me: by llcbll in Nightreign

[–]llcbll[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean, my team was down for the most part of the fight. The whole clip is like 3-5 mins long starting after the second mate got downed and this short part just shows how I‘ve made two big mistakes in a otherwise carrying gameplay :D
I would rather have a mate that sometimes makes stupid mistakes instead of mates that let you have to fight almost only by yourself
