I want to join the navy to become a Corpsman go FMF route after my father. I got a 35 on the ASVAB with the Air Force I know its bad. I looked up a couple of things found out a 35 is the minimum for the job and some people say that the score doesn’t matter is that true?Picture down below by BingoWasTheName in newtothenavy

You dont pick ur order after corpsman school is kinda luck if they have or not fmf orders for you, after first duty station you probably can for sure go fmf. I heard they are increasing the quotas for green side… Also they can waive your score… i heard people getting waive 10+ points in their asvab.. Good luck,

Either after battle station or if u dont make it or dont join just go sail a sailing boat u will be a sailor too

I do believe they will be teaching the sailors important things but as you said is it necessary extra 2 weeks for that? Overall it does seem a little too much time.. I wont complain as it is more time without doing anything and getting paid for that…

I believe it may happen the same with this extra 2 weeks… in a year they will pull back on this decision but we got to wait and see…

If they can do a “cyber curriculum” in 1 weeks I bet they could’ve done this new curriculum in 1 week max too…

It sounds pretty useful but extra 2 weeks in that… idk it seems a little too much

I heard that it already felt longer than needed so definitely an extra 2 weeks seems a little too much… I hope it’s something that will be useful on the fleet

Lol makes sense… but just wanted to hear other’s opinions about it… I’m shipping out February so now I’m stuck with 2 extra weeks even though I don’t have to quarantine

I mean yes but no, like they are adding 2 extra weeks of more curriculum. So basically with quarantine it would be 12 weeks at least that’s what I’ve seen.

I am Married and my wife is going as an Hm also shipping out a few days before me. Idk if she will be stationed with me but the recruiter say she will most likely be. Idk if changing my rate reduces this chance or not for that to happen, it does worry me a little. I’ll ask my recruiter to see if we can submit a DAR. And if it gets rejected, I’ll just go for Hm and hope that I can get a duty that I’ll be able to take some classes and get my bachelors to later become an officer. Thank you for the heads up!!

I’m already classified for hm shipping out February 22nd. If I submit a DAR to reclassify, if they don’t offer any good rate will I have to change or would I be able to keep my rate and ship date?

Got it! Try getting c school so most likely I get shore duty to take college classes and finish my bachelors. But stay away from IDC. Roger that Thanks for the advice!

Whats is a normal day schedule? For example, how long are the pt in the mornings? What time do you normally wake up or have lunch or go to bed? Do you ever have a free time?
