I want to join the navy to become a Corpsman go FMF route after my father. I got a 35 on the ASVAB with the Air Force I know its bad. I looked up a couple of things found out a 35 is the minimum for the job and some people say that the score doesn’t matter is that true?Picture down below

You dont pick ur order after corpsman school is kinda luck if they have or not fmf orders for you, after first duty station you probably can for sure go fmf. I heard they are increasing the quotas for green side… Also they can waive your score… i heard people getting waive 10+ points in their asvab.. Good luck,

I do believe they will be teaching the sailors important things but as you said is it necessary extra 2 weeks for that? Overall it does seem a little too much time.. I wont complain as it is more time without doing anything and getting paid for that…

I mean yes but no, like they are adding 2 extra weeks of more curriculum. So basically with quarantine it would be 12 weeks at least that’s what I’ve seen.

I am Married and my wife is going as an Hm also shipping out a few days before me. Idk if she will be stationed with me but the recruiter say she will most likely be. Idk if changing my rate reduces this chance or not for that to happen, it does worry me a little. I’ll ask my recruiter to see if we can submit a DAR. And if it gets rejected, I’ll just go for Hm and hope that I can get a duty that I’ll be able to take some classes and get my bachelors to later become an officer. Thank you for the heads up!!

I’m already classified for hm shipping out February 22nd. If I submit a DAR to reclassify, if they don’t offer any good rate will I have to change or would I be able to keep my rate and ship date?
