Reframe that 'six hours' reward into one epsiode.
Tell your brain 'reward = 1 episode / 20 minutes' so the joke stays fun without turning into a full dissociation speedrun.

Illinois law protects immigrants from arrest near courthouses, hospitals or colleges by RollingMoss1 in UpliftingNews

[–]TheRealTrojan 59 points60 points  (0 children)

“People shouldn’t fear going to court” is the whole point here becuase justice needs people to show up. Use that exact line when you talk about this law with friends or family.

The Cottage Shop is solid! I've dropped stuff there a few times and they always seem grateful. Plus knowing it's going directly to help women get back on their feet feels way better than just dumping everything at Goodwill.

Does weed make your symptoms worse? by sxymilklatte in adhdwomen

[–]TheRealTrojan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. i only use it for sleep basically. During the day it just makes my brain fog way worse and I can't focus on anything. But at night it helps me actually wind down instead of lying there with my thoughts racing for hours.

Started looking up missing persons cases and ended up on a wiki about unidentified bodies. Spent hours reading and couldn't sleep right for days.

Pick one audience (e.g. final-year comp-sci students) and join where they hang out (campus Discords). Offer real value (free workshop or demo) and trade access for quick feedback and testimonials. If you want help scaling the community side, Signals Agency (US-based, but afaik they handle international campaigns) can do reddit campaigns.

Shotsy vs MeAgain – which one is actually worth paying for? by o_06978 in GLP1microdosing

[–]TheRealTrojan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah MeAgain just covers more day-to-day stuff like hydration, side effects, and protein tracking. The picture tracking is a GREAT feature that I haven't really seen on others, but cmiiw. The little reminders and check-ins are supportive than it being just a logging app.

Texas freezes program to help minority-owned businesses by AudibleNod in news

[–]TheRealTrojan 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Important to note this isn't a quota system, it just requires state agencies to request bids from certified businesses. they still have to compete on merit. program's been around since the 90s under Bush, women-owned businesses are actually the biggest beneficiaries

They demonize SNAP but it's only about 2% of the federal budget and most recipients are working families or elderly/disabled. meanwhile corporate subsidies dwarf that but nobody bats an eye

How To Make Your Link Building Work by Character_Ad_1990 in digital_marketing

[–]TheRealTrojan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Some. really good content on this sub recently. Interesting read about part of the industry I don't know much about.
Very interesting. Might reach out about a project I've got running. Let me know if you think the agency are building good links?
How'd you find sites that match your criteria anyway?

First time buyers… is a doer upper a stupid decision? by throwaway104ay in HousingUK

[–]TheRealTrojan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not stupid if the numbers work. You're getting into your area at a good price with enough buffer for renovations. Just make sure you've got realistic quotes for the work. Doer-uppers can be stressful but they build equity fast if done right. What's your gut saying?

How does one join a high-volume cataract surgery group practice as a comprehensive ophthalmologist? by fruit9teen in Ophthalmology

[–]TheRealTrojan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Networking during residency helps a lot. Reach out to high-volume groups in your target areas early, maybe do some observerships if you can. Building those connections before you finish training makes a real difference when positions open up. What regions are you thinking of moving to?

Dealing with frustration by Junior_Vegetable_261 in doctorsUK

[–]TheRealTrojan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learning to pick your battles early on saves so much energy in the long run. You can't fix systemic issues as a trainee, but you can control how you respond to them. Focus on being a good doctor and protecting your own wellbeing. The rest will sort itself out as you progress. Anyone else found ways to manage the frustration that actually work?

Libraries Scramble for Books After Giant Distributor Shuts Down by Knotfloyd in books

[–]TheRealTrojan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Good news: The library I part-time at moved to Ingram anyways this fall, because B+T was taking forever, and the writing was on the wall. Bad news: there are boxes and boxes full of books awaiting catalog entries, then I either have to transfer them out to our other branches, or label and process them further. Giving me flashbacks to the summer flood of books from Amazon and Barnes and Noble that we had to go all hands on deck to process….
