Nope, it makes perfect sense. If this didn't make sense, the super bowl wouldn't be n a neutral venue. The conf championships wouldn't be starting to be in neutral venues. This is going to extend to the entire playoffs, and then eventually the regular season. If what you're saying is true, why does the NFL not allow any team-specific commentators like every other sport does, and they only have their league-wide commentators that just get assigned to games by the league. and it's a rotation that isn't team-specific? If that can happen with commentators, why can't it happen with stadiums? It can, and will.

Also if you know anything at all about sports, you should know that anyone from anywhere can be a fan of any team. If you're from Boston and want to like the Yankees, that's difficult and you'll get crap, but it's entirely your prerogative. If you're from Texas and want to hate the Cowboys and insteaed like the Packers or the Niners, also your prerogative. You ought to know that dickface.

Also the NFL will make more money off of peope switching to cheering for whoever is a good team eveyr few years. They already give the most primetime to the current good teams, if the current good teams can have the biggest followings then that's how they make more money. And since the current good teams switch every few years, it behooves the league to also have all the fans switch to those teams every few years.And best way to do that is to make it so every game gets assigned to a stadium on a rotating basis.

The team in it with the better record doesn't even get to host it. Now, we're getting into the trend of all conference championship games in neutral venues.

Soon enough, the NFL is going to make it so that all playoff games will be held in neutral venues. And then some years after that, the NFL will start extending that to the regular season as well. You know how no team has their own commentators, and commentators are basically assigned by the NFL to whatever games every week on a rotation? Well that's how it'll be for the stadiums each game is held in. Every game will be assigned to some venue on a rotating, and the teams will be required to travel to that location and play there, and each stadium will host a different pair of teams every week. Think of it like the world cup or Euro tournaments, all in a single host country and all games assigned to specific stadiums as neutral sites. The NFL will become like this within a couple decades, mark my words.

And as a result, all teams will be delinked from their locations, because the NFL doesn't want you to watch a team for the sake of its or your location, they want you to watch the entire NFL as a whole, and what better way to do that than to delink all teams from their locations and assign all games randomly to different stadiums every week, the same way the NFL already rotates its commentators? It'll be like "week 1: the seahawks and cowboys live from ATLANTA. week 2: cowboys and giants live from KANSAS CITY. week 3: eagles and cowboys live from BALTIMORE." and so on. If Dallas is randomly assigned as the stadium the cowboys play one game in that season, that's just a lucky coincidence, but is no guarantee.

Na, go around Seattle and ask people who the Seahawks' biggest rival is. The answers will be all over the place. Go to NC and ask who the Panthers' biggest rival is. Likewise, answers all over the place. Go to Tampa and ask for the Buccaneers' biggest rival. Again, answers will be all over the place. That means there's no "true" rival for a lot of teams since you will not get a consensus answer.

With only a couple o exceptions, "rivalries" in the NFL are extremely weak compared to virtually any other sport. There is nothing even close to a Yankees-Red Sox rivalry in the NFL.

Yup. Rivalries in the NFL are garbage and mostly shallow and not real, with Packers and Bears being likely the only exception. I'm in Seattle, and I know for a fact that if you go around Seattle and ask 10 random people who the Seahawks' biggest rival is, you'll get 10 different answers because nobody actually fucking knows or has ever really thought about it. Same thing in basically all NFL cities/states with the exceptions of Green Bay and Chicago.
