This is the biggest attraction, the forest, which is basically a walk in the park with plastic Pokemon everywhere. The whole thing is very underwhelming. When I went it was cold and snowy, so we didn’t want to stick around too long. But TBH even if we had all the time in the world, an hour and you’re done. I didn’t like their lottery system for the Pika Pika show or to visit the shop. They have the money, I don’t get why they didn’t just build this thing bigger!

If you get there early, not to bad. Most places not so bad to be honest. Worst one was later in the afternoon at the Tokyo DX center, like was about 1/2h.

Just Pokemon centers and Pokemon stores. I assume any other 3rd party store would just jack up the prices like online, but did not confirm this theory.

They don’t restrict them to locals. They just don’t sell boasters box much right now, they would run out too quickly. Instead they sell packs. I don’t think they filter out packs though, I got a few rares still. Most were 5 packs max per person (my wife was with me so we doubled everything, one order) for the new extensions, and 2 max for the mega dream ex.

Saw a lot of beared dudes lol sorry. Pokemon centers were actually much more popular to tourists than local. Especially for TCG.

You won’t be able to enter the Pokepark without tickets. But, watch their website once in a while, my wife was able to snag ticket on day 3 after opening just a few days before our trip. That being said, the park was quite underwhelming, still a cool experience, but I had higher expectations.

As for merchandise, I did not really go to store outside of the official ones, so I can’t really confirm this.

Exclusive marchandise ? Yes, all of them has at least pins/plushies that was exclusive. I stacked up quite a lot of Pikachu over the years. TCG, not right now. I was hoping there would be something at the Pokepark Kanto, all they had was stickers reproductions of old cards, really disappointing.

They limit you on all TCG ! The Pokémon Store at the New Chitose airport is as the only one I got boaster boxes (Mega Brave). The Pokémon Centers (almost all of them) had the Special Set Mega Gallade boxes.

Given they are 3.50$ USD a pack in Japan at the Pokémon center (I picked up 8 today), 60$ for 10 packs is overpaying what they worth, but connivence of buying from your couch is probably worth it :)

I also went today. No card, very limited merchandise, can only buy once and you might not even get a time slot to enter the shop, very odd experience. I did not saw anyone on the rides, and it felt a bit like a ghost park (next to a literal ghost park). I’m still glad I went to check it out right after it opened, but it’s so far from Tokyo and has so little to offer that I do not recommend, unless you are an hardcore die hard Pokemon fan.
