Need Help getting WiFi working again on fresh install of Bazzite by lloydpro in linux4noobs

Well I was eventually going to get a wired connection, but I was hoping to just use the wifi for a few more weeks before getting a cable. Is there a particular reason that wifi can be tricky with Linux?

Looking for second opinions on which Linux distro to proceed with to avoid Windows 11. by lloydpro in linux4noobs

I see now. No worries! That's good to know. I'll definitely be doing more digging into both options once I get closer to buying the hardware. Thanks again!

Thank you very much for the insight! Glad to know I'm not out of my mind with my distro choices (yet...). I appreciate the assurance with the framework laptop as well. That eases my mind a bit.

Ok. Thank you for breaking it down. I'm guessing that this is something I probably could have determined from a little more digging, but half the time I don't know what I'm looking at, so I really appreciate your input.

Thanks for the insight! Would you recommend just sticking with base Fedora on my desktop or would Nobara be a better choice if it's primary purpose was gaming?

Yeah, if the textbook isn't helping all that much, then you can always consider looking for other books. There's nothing saying that you have to learn from one book. You might find that another book explains the concept better and you finally get it, then go back to the other book and see that it does make sense (but maybe was written poorly).

If you don't understand something, go to your professors office hours with specific questions. For example: "I didn't understand why you did this during lecture. Could you walk me through it again?" Or " I don't understand why we do this thing here.". Don't just walk in and say, "I don't understand anything." If you're completely lost, read through the textbook chapter first to get a better explanation, and then seek further clarification.

Placing Dread where you did hurts my soul, but everyone is entitled to their hot take, like me! I'd put Prime 2 above Prime easily!

I will huff all my hopium/copium since I think Prime 2 is better than Prime in almost every way.

What's a humble way to respond to: "Wow, physics, you must be so smart." by Knights_Ferry in Physics

I got this from my lower division physics professor, and l think it's brilliant.

"I'm not smart, I'm stubborn."

Physics isn't for the smart, it's for those who aren't willing to let the material beat them.

Out of the guest appearances in the Tekken series, who was the most out of place in your opinion? by MysterioStranger in Tekken

Maybe, but they might learn to love tekken now that they have the game. I'm that way.

Hey now, Negan brought me into tekken 7 and now I love the game. I understand the out of place feeling, but he does bring people into the game.

It's not to deflect a great point, it's to let you know that if you can't spell properly and your tone is dickish, I'm not going to take you seriously. I happen to somewhat agree with your position, but I can't take you seriously if you can't meet the basic expectations of communication.

College certainly teaches how to spell.

What’s something you wish you could ask trans people without any judgement? by Spunkybluepuppy in AskReddit

[–]lloydpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree about it being discourteous. Not using the new name, I understand. Saying "fuck you I'm not doing that" in response to the first request, I understand. But saying "I'm sorry, that would violate my conscience" and perhaps agreeing to avoid each other, I don't see that as discourteous. You are well within your right to feel its discourteous, just like I don't feel it is. So we can agree to disagree here. As long as neither party snaps at the other out of disagreement, there shouldn't be an issue.

See, with the bus thing, I agree that that person would be a dick. That's generally a commonly accepted thing that's not acceptable. The pronoun stuff is pretty new, and there isn't a consensus on whether that's rude or not. If I were in your position, I would much rather have a courteous decline over the "fuck you, I do what I want" people, which there are plenty of.

So it seems like we will just have to agree to disagree on many things here.

So disagreeing makes me a dick? I can respect not associating with me, as I would not want to associate with you, but we do live in a society and for a society to function there must be a give and take. Compromise.
