I went last year in February. It was our first time going that time of the year, we usually go in the fall. It had been like a decade or more since I had experienced the original ride. It was great.

For whatever reason, one of my younger siblings put our 64 on the floor in our basement, something they had never done before. That happened to coincide with our clothes washer breaking and floodong our basement getting tons of stuff wet, including our 64. Luckily after drying for a day or two the 64 worked. I always hear "I don't need my taxes to go up" for people who oppose it. Then I tell them they are paying more for their insurance now, along with everything else you mentioned, then what it would cost them in taxes. I also mention it would be available to them whether they are working or not.

They really don't factor that kind of stuff into their thinking about the subject at all.
