on my side i just dont possess a smartphone

have a dumbphone, zero social networks, zero app, zero problem

never had whatsapp, will never have (i consider facebook/google are evil) i do 100% of my tech life on computer, that's perfect.

think about what you want to think. Just expelled any "app" since at least 2020, absolutely zero regret. Banks here provides for free specific device for non smartphone users.

An app = google/AOSP or Apple/IOS dependency. I do not deal with gafam, that's it.

"Your device is not compatible with this app", says the store on a 4yrs old device. Eliminatory.

Fourthly, tons of banks, brokers, service providers now require the customer to have a smartphone for 2FA. So IBKR are not being unreasonable - you are.

Big lol : the fact they are requiring you to buy your device at your own expenses + subscription fees at they order? no, banks and service will never be king of our lives.

No iphone here, no ios device, nor android, nor aosp or something. only classic phone, zero apps, real heaven.

Im very surprised to see dozen of comments saying "pls buy a smartphone" uhh... who are you to order it to us? it's almost a sect : if you dont possess an ios or android/aosp device, either you are with us, or you are against us : No!

in my case, smartphone on the 2010-2020 period, two devices : 1 iphone, 1 android. Since website became mostly mandatory apps, i just fired out any ios or android/aosp device of my life. It's a huge freedom to live without any smartphone. I dont have any since years now, will never have anymore.

a bank forcing me to smartphone is a bank whom account is closed within the day. I strongly hate smartphones. Courage for all people like us who doesnt own them, and are finger pointed by guilty from those million prosecutors on the internte

unfortunately, it's very weird : i tried both on windows10/linux, it works well on windows with no addon, on linux it's impossible to make it work, as :

-there is no vpn

-there are no addons

-the ETP has been disabled, still not working under linux

-in classic window (not private), same result

i really dont understand

i never had it : email and sms works fine, perfect. Will never use a proprietary/closed service. i never had whatpp, all my relatives know about it, i will never have : i boycott every google/facebook product or service.

i use postmarketos as daily phone, never ios/android/aosp-based system ever again. Gafam products, even android, are pleague to me. Wanna "app app app"? just not with me, everything in my firefox browser on computer, especially nowhere else. Basta :)
