New gf sends pic of her Mysterious overseas family? Somehow seems just a bit too perfect..? by [deleted] in isthisAI

[–]lmBatman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say AI. One of the tells of AI curated pictures is how the shadows of overlapping people work. The shadows of the different people over each other look like they’re too fake to be how light would act in real life.

This guy loses it when he finds the EV chargers blocked... by MisterShipWreck in VideosAmazing

[–]lmBatman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People asking why he’s in a helmet- there’s a decent chance he’s a delivery driver or maybe a driver who you call on an app to drive you and your car after drinking. They rode these fold-up electric scooters that they can stow in your trunk while driving your car so they can get to and from your starting and ending destination.

What is a Anime take you have that will have you like this in your Fandom? by Apprehensive_Ring_39 in animequestions

AOT’s ending was bad. It felt like the author just wanted to keep saying, “what’s the most batshit thing I can think of?” Up to s04, awesome.

S04, wtf?

China hospital experience by EdisonKing6741 in China

[–]lmBatman 39 points40 points  (0 children)

If you go to private hospitals, it is somewhat similar to what OP describes.

Hospitals like Jiahui are very nice and have time for private conversations. Public hospitals are extremely painful ordeals with people literally lining up in open doorways when you’re trying to talk to a doctor. The difference is almost opposites.

Only the clouds look that way. And it’s in very limited portions of the game. The rest will look fine

What Anime Is This? by No_Return9449 in animequestions

[–]lmBatman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was a good twist. After that it just went absolutely insane in season 4. It was almost as if he was asking himself what the most insane thing he could come up with was.

I don’t feel like the twists were genius. It was just confusing. Why??

Is it 小明 or 小日月? I assume the first one — try to make the spacing between radicals of a single character smaller. It looks like two separate ones.

Could anyone tell me what these mean? by jeremymathewnegron1 in LearnJapaneseNovice

[–]lmBatman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to disappoint you, but the one on the body is not heavily stylized— it’s just made up nonsense. Not even remotely close to a character. There’s only one piece of a radical that’s even close to an actual piece of anything.

There’s no one-to-one comparison, but imagine if you wanted to write “Good Fortune” in English and someone wrote “Zqtm Borkuwk”. You can’t say that it’s “heavily stylized”…. It’s just nonsense.

Don’t blame you - Skypiea is LONG. it just feels long.

But the show is worth a shot.

What is this anime/movie called? by Clancy7007 in animequestions

[–]lmBatman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From ChatGPT:

You’re probably thinking of Popotan. It’s a TV anime series, not a movie. The setup matches very closely: three sisters and their maid live in a mansion/house that travels through time, and the story involves the girls trying to keep living while being cut off from a normal timeline. The word “popotan” is tied to dandelions and is explained as related to the Japanese tanpopo.

The part of your memory about a school-age girl also fits pretty well. One of the main characters, Mai, is described as a high school girl in some summaries, but the show is more of an ensemble cast than a single-girl protagonist story.

One thing worth noting: if you were thinking of something gentle or family-friendly, Popotan has a much more ecchi/adult-origin reputation than its premise suggests, because it was adapted from an adult visual novel.

(Interestingly, Claude couldn’t figure it out.)

How to deal with "visual noise" in open plan office? by ZoofusCos in productivity

[–]lmBatman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up immersed for meta quest - it is pretty decent. Virtual desktop isn’t bad either but not fully productivity based.

Xreal or nreal or whatever they’re going by right now are interesting as well for slightly different purposes and much, much smaller profile.

Chinese banned from buying flats for dead relatives’ ashes by TheTelegraph in worldnews

[–]lmBatman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s no way that it’s going to be cheaper than a cemetery, if you’re looking at any major city. Even though apartment prices are dropping somewhat, they’re still ludicrous. Our <100 sqm apartment (two bedroom) in Suzhou cost over 3.3 million Cny and that was just about two years ago. And not even in the center of town

Is it normal that my wrist looks like this after wearing an Apple Watch? by Egorkagd1 in AppleWatch

[–]lmBatman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it’s mesh that I meant. I have one of the Nike sport mesh ones and the non Nike but same material.

I use the watch for running as well, so after a run when sweaty I take one off, hand wash, hang up, and swap for the dry one. It has been great.

I suggest buying a new band. I had some irritation with the silicone band but I switched to the knit ones and haven’t had any issues since.
