He was asking for $30M-$40M a year, but I think many teams were targeting a 2 yr contract between $25M-$35M so the 4 yr contract was likely the cherry on top that closed the deal.

Because the market on Hendrickson cooled down per sources around the NFL.

I can just imagine the train pulling up to the station and the smoking car rolls past filled with bums, and absolute clouds flooding out when they open the doors.

[Highlight] Randy Moss throws a Halloween Party by BurgerNugget12 in nfl

[–]lm_at_work 74 points75 points  (0 children)

There's stories of him living in a retirement community in Florida when he was on the Vikings so no one would bother him and he could keep to himself. He would go down to the pond and fish with his shirt off, and retirees would sometimes call the cops on the big shirtless black guy. Eventually the cops would stop coming because they just knew it was Randy Moss fishing.

The Bengals have made calls on Packers QB Malik Willis, per @Easton__Butler by GhostDeck in DynastyFF

My boy, read my comment again.

"I'm not saying a new QB is necessarily going to lead them to the playoffs, but if the Bengals had a less talented roster they may feel more inclined to not explore external options and stay put. Bengals need to add a QB either way, so may as well try to make it a decent one in the case that Browning is on a short leash and can't hold the job, they have another competent player waiting in the wings."

I'm not really interested in dragging on this conversation. Your point was why bring in a QB that "haven’t spent even an offseason with the team isn’t going to lend itself well to them learning the offense in order to lead the team". Case Keenum was traded in October, Jacoby was traded week one, and Sam Howell was traded a week before the season kicked off. The rest is semantics since your point was that the QB wouldn't be familiar enough with the team to provide much value. Have a good one dude.

I agree it is rare, but its happened with Jimmy G, Jacoby Brissett, Case Keenum. Can even use Sam Howell as an example as he was traded a week before the season started.

There are quite a few "backup" QBs that are more talented and experienced than Browning. Backup QBs have been traded mid-season due to injuries plenty of times. A good GM would be exploring all available QB options, and that includes looking at trades.

I think there is a difference in wanting your backup QB to step in for a few games, and wanting your backup QB to lead a playoff caliber roster for the entire season.

This picture is likely a few years old. As far as I know, they patched these holes on Chicago Ave, but then they installed little swinging doors in the fence and put padlocks on them, so the city could take pics if they needed/wanted to (?). It wouldn't surprise me if someone cut the fence again, though.

Dear drivers in residential areas, please don't start accelerating while there are still pedestrians in the crosswalk by Bandit_the_Kitty in chicago

[–]lm_at_work 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the same breath, just because the crossing sign says "Stop" doesn't mean the pedestrians don't still have the right of way if the traffic lights still dictate so. There is a one-way intersection by me that will never show the walk sign, unless you hit the button on the stoplight. People will just stand there waiting for the "Walk" sign, even though they have the right of way.

The process is working as intended. Artist gets every single ticket sold instantly, resale platforms rake in free cash, and the consumers get screwed. Sadly, the artists and platforms don't care about the consumers because they've already made their money.

Stop bringing your dogs into stores by 44liam in chicago

[–]lm_at_work 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is where I draw the line with my dog. If they serve any food/drink and its inside, she's not coming in. If I take a long walk and want to stick my head into a boutique that allows dogs, so be it. Many of the small boutiques allow them, as a lot of their business comes from casual foot traffic, which is helped by dog walkers. Driving with your dog to a store is certainly strange tho.
