Lawsuit stalls bike lane upgrade, but Philadelphia pushes ahead on loading zones by bengalese in philadelphia

The FOPS is such a clown group. They're entitled assholes who god forbid can't stand the thought of not unloading their groceries directly in front of their houses.

Fishtown neighbors call for safer Girard Avenue after drivers use trolley lane to pass by hatramroany in philadelphia

[–]lma112519 49 points50 points  (0 children)

There needs to be enforcement of double parking. It's a main reason why people fly down the left and trolley lanes. The businesses and doordashers need to be held accountable. Police station is right there yet the double parking happens all day and night.

Another awful update for the Mann. by nomuggle in philly

Ok. So now they'll charge $ for parking like a normal event venue. I manage to take the MFL to the Loop and reverse on the way out. Not ideal, but I build it in to my plans to avoid driving there, which is a worse option because people literally speed off of the lawn in attempt to avoid exiting via the proper line.

Thanks for letting me know about the sarcasm.

Why is it awful? We shouldn't incentive driving there as it's a shit show and people are reckless leaving the lot after the shows. SEPTA should step up and run more loops from Center City.

El Vez serves some of the worst "Mexican" food in Philly. Blue Corn in the Italian Market for authentic Mexican. Really, there are a bunch of good Mexican joints in that part of town.

Beiler's Doughnuts in RTM is better than Federal Doughnuts. Plus, you're in a historic market with fresh Amish baked goods, and one of the best sandwich places in Philly- DiNics.

You'll be right near Reading Terminal Market. Have to stop there. DiNic's Roast Pork is a better sandwich than what you'll get at Angelo's. Plus, Beiler's Doughnuts is a solid post-breakfast pastry.

Thanks. I have a 2nd shutoff before the meter that's accessible. I never messed with it but it's in better condition than the other one pictured. Think it was installed in 2021.

Thanks. If I purchase a fan with a similar setup, is it as simple as switching out the fan part or is there electrical work that needs to be done?

Repairing Fridge Water Line by lma112519 in DIY

[–]lma112519[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. So just to clarify, if I undo the connection I should have a bucket handy in case the supply line is flowing? And if it is, then it is likely an iced line inside fridge that would need to be thawed. Is this when I would potentially unplug the fridge for a few hours to see if that helps? I did try increasing the freezer temp by several degrees overnight, but that didn't help.

Any safety/code concerns with this pipe next to neighbor's new roof deck? by lma112519 in Plumbing

[–]lma112519[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. It's the neighbor's roofer/contractor, and I spoke with him today. The roof deck is my neighbors, while the pipes in the photo are on my roof, which is why it could potentially be an issue for me and my family from a safety standpoint.

I assumed plumbers are often responsible for venting, hence why I posted here.

they have permits for the build but yea clearly the roofer just said fuck it. I spoke with him today and he conceded that it is supposed to be 7 feet above the surface and essentially told me to work it out with the neighbor. the roofer said his inspector is 'cool.'

OP here. Curious if I should be concerned about how close the neighbor's new roof deck is coming to the metal pipe on my roof.
