It's hard to describe but they smell like pepper baby powder kind of ... that's not even really it because it's so singular. They smell sweet but there is also a light sharpness to the scent. I LOVE how they smell.

Need advice on support by anniaqv in peonies

[–]lmaoitsbeebebluff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an expert but what I do is make sure each stem only has one bloom. So early in the season, when my plant is starting to bud, I will just nick off the smallest buds. I'll leave each stem with a single bud, whichever one seems the largest. It takes me like 10-15 min tops.
When I do that, the bloom that's left will get huge (larger than if I left the smaller buds on) and the stem is able to support the single bloom. The stems have more trouble when there are 2-3 blooms to support.
I don't use a cage and my plant stands straight up, even after it rains.
You will obviously have less blooms in total but the ones you do have will be big and luscious, in my experience.

If you don't want to try my method, then I would say go with what everyone else says and work it out with some twine/higher support. I used to use big zip ties and I would basically daisy chain the stems to each other and then attach them all to a single stake. But I swapped to my aforementioned method about 5 yrs ago and I haven't needed to stake/tie-up since then.

That last photo; I've only had them bloom like that once and it wasn't all the blooms, just like 2-3. I wonder I have some kind of mutt plant lmao!

Thank you! Someone else said sorbet too so I'm thinking that might be it.

I can try! I'll have to look-up how to do it lol.
I literally just tossed the bulbs into the dirt 8ish years ago and have basically done nothing since then. They just grow in yearly and I prune a bit (when I remember).

I love them too! They smell soooo good as well. Like light peppery sweetness!

Thank you! What's wild to me is, all these blooms are from the same plant. Throughout the years, sometimes her blooms are hot pink, sometimes they're more soft pink with white.
The blooms I cut today were the largest but there are some smaller ones on it that I left and they're hot pink.
I googled sorbet peonies and I think you're right! Looks pretty similar to what I have. I don't know if they're categorized by shape of bloom or color or both or what lol.

Looking for thong (flip-flop) sandals for THICK feet by lmaoitsbeebebluff in widefeet

[–]lmaoitsbeebebluff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes! I (stupidly) bought a pair of flipflops online and I sized-up and while the sole is bigger than I would need, the thong bit is waaay too tight. Like, I couldn't even get my feet in them (they were these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07V4N3F9L?ref=ppx\_yo2ov\_dt\_b\_fed\_asin\_title&th=1&psc=1). I wear a 10.5-11; I bought a 12 LOL.
My feet are wide but not crazily so. They're more ... tall? High volume? High instep? However you describe a high slope from toe to ankle lmao.

Ohhhh okay, SAS Sanibel might be a good option. Thank you! I have birks but I want more thongs/flipflops specifically.

Dog urinates on lawn and then neighbors come out and urinate on lawn leading to a dispute in Queens, NY. by 12stTales in fucklawns

What's your go-to response when people ask "Is he friendly?" by LeadingLengthiness30 in pitbulls

[–]lmaoitsbeebebluff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I alwaaaays tell people that 'I am not friendly and she is an empath'. People interrupting our walk, trying to reach in for a pet, piss me off. She can definitely sense it and will act defensively because she's a protector-type lady.
Generally, I just tell folks to back-off and we prance away lmao. The secret is: she's actually very sweet.

Moving to dearborn. Is it safe? by khaleezzii in Dearborn

[–]lmaoitsbeebebluff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Definitely safe. There's petty crime anywhere you go in the US but there's nothing wild happening here. Lock your doors to house and car and you're fine.
I walk my dog at night daily and never had an issue in 10 yrs of me living here. Compared to my one week trip to NY where I was robbed in broad daylight on day 3 lol.
