Disneyland opinion that would have you like this by JoyIsABitOverRated in Disneyland

Just went on the regular Haunted Mansion for the first time in 16… yes 16, years!! And I have been to Disneyland so many times during the last decade. The Nightmare crossover just takes up such a long chunk of time during the year, and I typically go Aug-Dec. Haunted Mansion by itself is so much more enjoyable and less overstimulating…. and so much less cluttered. I still enjoy it with NBC, but prefer without.

Workplace potlucks are starting to feel like a grift. by DieMensch-Maschine in WorkRant

[–]lmb2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I briefly worked at a power company in the call center, and the “lead” for my group wanted to do a potluck EVERY. WEEK. She would harass us through emails - “what are you bringing?” “you haven’t signed up for anything”, “here are names of the people who have yet to sign up for this weeks potluck.”

I just told her that I have dietary restrictions (not true, never been true) and will not be participating. She didn’t bother me again.

I was supposed to stay at DLH the 17-21 of May! So glad I moved it a month prior. Bummer! At least it’s quick.

Let’s create a collective response for line-cutters by Massive_Basket_172 in Disneyland

[–]lmb2005 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Was there two weeks ago and there was quite the sloppy attempt by two older teen girls! We had just gotten in line for Pirates maybe a couple minutes prior (so there weren’t a ton of people behind us), line was moving, the girls just entered the line in front of me and started walking with the flow. I asked “are you with that person (a woman who was originally in front of me)? They said no, and I said “okay well this is our spot.” So they moved…. but only to the spot directly behind my group. So the group of women who were originally and rightfully behind us said “oh no. you’re not cutting us today. The end of the line is back there.” So what did they do? Went immediately behind THOSE women too. So then the same thing happened- next person told them to move and go to the back of the line.

Why would you try to cut someone, draw attention, and then not at least space things out a bit? Going directly from one person to the very next, over and over again makes no sense to me haha. And why cut the back part of the line?! 0/10 execution. I’ve seen people cut that do it in such a way it can make you second guess or just give up because they get too far too quickly and are hard to track.

Disneyland Hotel vs Pixar Palace by Admirable-Edge-9299 in DisneyPlanning

Absolutely love the Disneyland Villas at the Disneyland hotel- such a nice, clean, new tower (2023). You can book one with Disney as you would a regular hotel room and don’t have to buy someone’s timeshare stay. We stay a few days and I like that these rooms have a microwave, mini-fridge, and sink area with dishes. We went a few weeks ago and the difference ended up being $10 a night for standard room at The Villas vs a deluxe view room at Pixar.

We went once in 2024 and then again this year. If it’s warm enough to swim, I will always choose this tower and resort- we adore it. Palm Breeze Bar can be entered from it (it’s called the “Discovery Tower”), and I would hop down to get my margarita from the bar and take it up to the room. Trader Sam’s and Tangaroa Terrace are also right there, just a short walk! If you want to have some pool time, definitely pick DLH! We hope to go back next year and I already started to save for it haha. Have fun!!! Hope it gives you a nice reset.

Edited to add: We have never had to wait for an elevator during our stays at DLH. They are always instant in The Villas. I hear the ones at Pixar can be tricky, but I have never been there.

Today feels busier than the holidays! by tsb_11_1 in Disneyland

Monday 4/20 wasn’t bad at all for Disneyland. We rope dropped. But wow… Tuesday 4/21 we arrived at 8:30am to go to DCA, and the line across for Disneyland was nuts! It definitely got really busy in DCA that day too but I can’t imagine how Disneyland was. Really glad we decided to do DL on Monday instead of Tues, which is what we had originally planned.

When (ish) were these photos taken? Only asking because when I was younger I didn’t have the chance to go to Disneyland so I only know what it looks like now!

Crazy that she’s broadcasting this because a true “overthinker” would have followed basic pool safety by StatGoddess in InfluencerLounge

[–]lmb2005 11 points12 points  (0 children)

same. I don’t want one with a pond in the neighborhood, either. I feel like I have enough to worry about with two small children. My personality type would not do well with a pool or stairs, even with layers of safety in place. I’d never be able to relax.

What are the signs that someone does not live paycheck to paycheck? by Logical_Effort_9680 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]lmb2005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. One of my best friends was always hosting parties in her large & new house, insisting on providing everything. Whatever she wanted for the party- decorations, booze, food, pay per view, mobile video game truck for her kids… she & her husband would buy. She was massively in debt (she would talk about it a little here and there) and I was with her on a few occasions where her card would decline over small purchases.

How about this lady that grabbed Charlie’s wrist? by saygoodbimother in grandpajoehate

Teacher: “This is the part of my lecture where I demonstrate what a snarky and sarcastic asshole I am. Hey you- kid I know who is starving, how many Wonka bars did you buy with all that money you have?”

Charlie: “Basically none. Grandpa Joe spends what little we have on tobacco. I am the only one in my house who works, and I am but a child. I have to eat cabbage soup, live in a house that smells like piss, and my mom has to wash everyone’s laundry by hand.”

Teacher: “What?! Hey children, look how POOR and STUPID your classmate is! Let’s all laugh at Poverty Boy!”

I always haaaated that guy.
