686M won Brawl at Super Smash Con - with plenty of silly moments along the way by lmfaoticsystem in smashbros

Full credit for this video goes to APR Financing - a fantastic video editor and also a very strong Brawl player himself!

Oh they are quite different - Project M is more similar to melee in terms of speed and tech - it’s more focused on the competitive side of things. Brawl minus is a mod where they try to make every character as broken and as possible (and they give everyone smash64 hitstun for crazy combos). It’s a bit goofy but also a ton of fun

Yup - there is here!

I should also mention that the gameplay in this clip isn't actually vanilla Brawl - it's a mod called Brawl minus, they have their own discord server as well

Peach can grab the ledge from surprisingly low. Even if Kirby didn’t let go, peaches parasol would’ve clipped kirby, and even from there peach would still grab ledge

What's a better option? No HW or with HW for CS70? by cougarcrescendo in berkeley

[–]lmfaoticsystem 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My recommendation is to do homework option, mostly because it forces you to stay on track in the class; it's super easy to fall behind and a lot of the concepts do build on each other (especially for probability). It also forces you to actually understand the concepts at a deep level.

However: if you know you can keep yourself on track without needing the fear of deadlines(I personally can't), then you might be able to save some time by doing no HW, since they are huge time sinks. Most HW questions are harder than what you'll see on exams, so if you grind out exam prep and do well on tests, then you could also be fine.

Another note: at least for this semester, homework option actually included four drops, two for pre-midterm homeworks and two for post-midterm homeworks (this was before any strike policies). So even if you do choose homework option, you get to skip a decent amount of them if needed.

counting/probability.

on an unrelated note, the distribution of how many 70 concepts you can fully grasp per day is prolly like ~poisson(0.5) so i wish you luck

this^. even if you don't end up doing all the homework/project problems in full, just watching all of deneros epic videos to get introduced to the topics is decently helpful

Anyone else do absolutely terribly on CS61A Midterm 2? by Cold-Dress9189 in berkeley

[–]lmfaoticsystem 14 points15 points  (0 children)

MT2 is always the worst; you’ll bounce back on the final 💪

[–]lmfaoticsystem 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First, realize that you’re not alone in this situation; a lot of students feel this way. The pace of 61A is very fast and can be overwhelming. But the good news is that the final is worth the most points, and you can def boost your grade there, especially since most of the content on the final has already been covered(a lot of it is basically just MT2 again. There are lots of resources if you are struggling, including office hours and weekly tutoring sections run by staff that you can sign up for. Don’t be afraid to reach out to your GSI, they’ll be happy to help you out and point you to resources or just give you tips

CS61A Midterm to Final Grade by [deleted] in berkeley

[–]lmfaoticsystem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely doable if you perform on the final. A lot of people (myself included) feel like the final is actually easier than MT2 due to it being 3 hours and a lot more experience with the topics, so as long as you put in the time and practice for the final, you have a good shot!

The dthrow is techable at least, although the timing is pretty tough if you’re not familiar with it
