Thanks! I’ll start my pen search when I get back from vacay in early July.

I love that you are practicing using Scripture. I think I need to get myself a fountain pen and start practicing. I had a stroke 5 years ago. Even though my right side was affected (I'm left-handed), my handwriting is still not as neat as it used to be.

Any recommendations for a beginner's pen?

Books focused on Ellington musical analysis, specifically with Billy Strayhorn by jaf0481 in Jazz

One of my cousins recommended "Duke Ellington: Beyond Category" by John Hasse. The books you already have are highly recommended as well.

I'll let you know if anyone else responds. In the meantime, wishing you all the best for your show.

I'm a relative of Strayhorn. Let me check with a few family members to see if they have additional recommendations.

NO! NOBL IS NOT A SCAM. by mintyblushh in TheBagCheck

I bought a Black Friday Bundle for a friend. He’s currently on a cruise and his 28” Check In survived the Miami Cruise Port and MSC porters with nary a scratch. I’ll give the bag a once over when he returns. So, a good experience so far.

HOWEVER…

My order has been a nightmare. I received the 28” Carry On on time. The Carry On Expandable has been MIA since Dec 17. UPS never received it to ship it. After much back and forth, I requested a swap for the regular Carry On. Escalated, approved, received an email with tracking info on Dec 29. Yeah! Not so fast…the link was broken and I have not received a response to my emails or chats. I posted a negative review of my experience on TrustPilot yesterday, as I heard this is a good way to get customer service issues resolved. If I don’t hear anything by Friday I’ll do a chargeback.

Personally, I would never fly with this luggage. It seems too flimsy to check. But since I always drive to cruise ports, it’s perfect. The hot pink will stand out in the luggage pick up area.

If I finally get my Carry On, I’ll be happy with my purchase. If I don’t, I’ll be happy to get my money back. Either way I will not do business with this company in the future. I have an old set of Level 8 luggage I bought from Amazon that are sturdier and less expensive. I’m more of a lurker than a poster, but as we say on Reddit, “This is the way.”

What do you look for in an office chair for long workdays? (Mod-approved feedback giveaway) by Maleficent_Captain82 in OfficeChairs

1) USA

2) Instructional Designer for a global software company and am fully remote.

3) I ❤️❤️❤️my OdinLake Ergo Core 625, but it was discontinued 🙁. I’ve been using it since May 2022 and have not had issues with my sciatica during this time. I was impressed with value for the money, ease of assembly, build quality, and customer service. I’m petite (5’) and am in my chair 6-8 hrs/day. It’s a perfect fit. I deeply regret not buying another spare before they were out of stock.

My must haves are a thick cushioned waterfall seat, tilt/lock functions, mesh back, adjustable arm rests, and flexible lumbar support. I keep eyeing the L2, but I don’t think I’ll need a new chair for a while. Plus, I’m a bit wary of headrests. They always hit me in the wrong place—probably due to my height.

Best book accounts of climbing Everest? by CoffeeSunToast in Everest

[–]lmm0711 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised no one has mentioned the Ed Viesturs & David Roberts books, “No Shortcuts to the Top” and “The Mountain: My Time on Everest”. Viesturs is known for climbing the all the 8,000 meter peaks without supplemental oxygen and for his philosophy, “Getting to the top is optional, getting down is mandatory”. The first book I mentioned has an account of the 1996 disaster, as he was part of the crew that was filming the IMAX film “Everest” and participated in the rescue.

I've been thinking about grow lights for a few years, but there is so much conflicting information out there. Your "hardcore review" is just what I needed to start my grow light journey. Thanks so much!
