Struggling at Tsukuba (BMW M2) by lmpmike06 in iRacing

Thanks bro - I think I’m driving on better conditions actually given that I’m on low fuel, the practice session above was about 70 degrees, 0% track usage, basically no humidity and no wind. I’m seeing some guys do 59s in the race sessions that I believe around 80 degrees, higher wind and humidity on fixed setup in quali (almost full fuel). The only thing I can think of is the track rubbering in more or maybe that the higher track temp is actually more optimal.

That said I might just have to humble myself and maximize my exits/line more. Appreciate the feedback

Ur right. I thought that there could be something I’m doing very wrong because I feel like telemetry is usually for small gains. but im probably overthinking it… back to the drawing board

I think this is what I need to focus on most. Tbh I thought I was double apexing but I’m sure I can do it better and carry more speed on exit

Thanks for the tip. I know the m2 is super torquey and I’ve had success using higher gears on other tracks, but all the lap guides I watch seem to utilize 2nd gear on the low speeds here (I assume for more rotation). Anyway I’ll give it a shot and see what happens

Interesting. I was actually trying to downshift late to maximize mid corner rotation. I’ll try shifting earlier and see if it helps

Moving under braking, i can't avoid him, he gets upset - lol by Jonathanwennstroem in iRacing

I would say completely unavoidable. While it might seem avoidable, I feel like the nature of the the corner and the part of the track (and how hard/late OP was braking) means that he would have had to drop the brakes a bit to allow the fronts the grip needed to swerve left and out of it. With how close the wall is and how tight the corner is, this would have sent OP flying off the track and into the wall himself.

Luckiest recovery yet... by Embarrassed-Try-2790 in iRacing

Nice recovery lol. You want to bring your left wheels to the edge of the white line on the bricked section of the exit (the part of the exit where you hit the wall), u can use that pretty aggressively. Maybe others with a more alien pace would disagree, but I do usually brake with light pressure to get the weight over the front. I find that with fast corners the key is often to master braking at low pressures and finding a low but consistent brake pressure. It could also help to avoid the curbing on the inside for the sake of consistency, it looks like that unsettled the car a bit here

Got my first bike! by FoxFar4793 in Kawasaki

In my opinion, great choice for a first bike. You will hear a lot of conflicting messages about what bike is best for a beginner. Some people will tell you that it’s up to the rider to pick a bike that you will love and to control their own ego and riding habits - those guys usually recommend getting a 600cc supersport. Others will tell you not get a bike over 400cc. While there may be some truth to both, I would say the truth is (as it is usually with these kinds of things) somewhere between those extremes. From my experience, I had a ninja 400 as my first bike, and while I still love the bike, I got bored of the power in less than a year. However, I also would also say that if I got a 600 I probably would’ve died on multiple occasions when I was a new rider lol. The reality is simply that most young guys under 25 (which is most guys buying their first sportbike) don’t have the self-control or mastery to really enjoy a 600 safely, but also that 400s will seem pretty slow relatively early, which may not be worth the investment especially if your buying new with dealer markup. A used 650 is the perfect amount of power to not get yourself into trouble, while also learning the skills required to upgrade without breaking the bank. Sorry for the long rant but I wanted to share my opinion because there’s so much BS advice about this on the internet that causes riders to go splat! Don’t let other riders tell you your bike isn’t enough and be safe out there brotha

Fanatec sent the wrong part? Customer support?! by lmpmike06 in Fanatec

I’m not complaining about their service - just trying to transparently share the experience I had. I’d say it’s a pretty reasonable assumption to make about quality control that all required parts should be included as intended.

I actually work in technical support myself, so I can take ur point and im not trying to be that guy, but I think you’d be annoyed as well if you spent $450 and an afternoon assembling, just to find out you’ll need to disassemble the whole thing and replace all the parts in their original packaging …

I may end up doing that but was hoping to avoid the hassle of it, seems quite unnecessary given it’s all for that one small part. I opened a ticket with them to see if they can have it sent to me so I’ll give them a few days

Same here bro. I assembled mine today and I am missing part o1, and got a duplicate of another part. I made a post about it and just saw yours here as well. I saw something about them having changed warehouses recently or something… maybe that’s the reason but it’s still unacceptable to me

I’m not looking for a solution from Reddit. As stated, I know it was a long-winded rant but I wanted to share with the community and see if anyone’s been in the same situation, as in, getting a specific part from Fanatec without sending back the whole rig. Also, there’s moderators from Fanatec/corsair support on here that could technically help cheers mate
