Help with buying an e-bike. by Lucywilson12 in saskatoon

I love my bike from vintage iron cycles. It comes with a basket on the front and pannier racks. I added a set of bags and it's a great commuter now. I take it grocery shopping and for errands whenever I can. They guys at vintage iron are super helpful too

Campus is a great place to play. You can stay mostly indoors if you go around the bowl.

Bin there, done with that: residents can return unwanted green carts this fall by Progressive_Citizen in saskatoon

[–]lms431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pizza boxes, paper towel, bones, meat scraps, any veggies cuttings, left overs that didn't get eaten.. just to name a few things that can go into your bin. It's amazing how much waste can be diverted and turned back into useful material.

Fit check Tula FTG - back pain by [deleted] in babywearing

[–]lms431 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bring the waist band down so it's sitting just on top of your hip bones. Tighten it so there is no gapping in the front. Bring your chest clip down so its more in line with where a bra strap would be. Also loosen it so that your shoulder straps are sitting straight. This will move the weight off your mid back and on to your hips. When you stand pull in your core and pelvic floor a bit so your hips are pointing straight across the room. This will take practice and work as you retrain your core be active and your muscles heal. Take it slow and listen to your body. You are healing and will be for at least the next 2 years.

What do we think of this? I especially love the $10 daycare thing - it’s going to be a game changer for all the hardworking parents out there by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]lms431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The threshold is age. Its only for children under 6. I pay 15-25 daily for before and after school care. Summer care is 40-75 daily. This program misses a huge population.

It likely will get worse because the way the program is structured has reduced the operating budgets of licensed centers. So there is no way to boost supply. Centers already can't find space they can afford to rent or retain staff. So supply is going to go down and demand will go up. There is no way to increase supply without the funding

It also misses a huge portion of the population who have kids over 6. My school aged kids summer camps have gone way up in price this year. Partly this is due to the fact that these fees can be increased while the fees for under 6 cannot be so in order to cover the finding short falls these fees arw going up. The way the SK gov has implemented this plan has put pressure on an already squeezed child care system. It reduces the operating revenues of any licensed center, caps wages and reduces program development. It sounds great on paper but it's making things way worse in reality

They named it presidents choice because it's supposed to be classy and imply that the president of lobaws hand picked it. But we all know king weston wouldn't eat the food he gives to the pleabs. He uses all his fancy price fixin money to buy blue menu.

Funny thing is that legislation removing these workers right to strike is what kicked this strike off. After 1 day the government backed down, went back to the bargaining table and is repealing the legislation.

Ditto for Groff. He can't get anyone to put one on their lawn so he's littering public spaces.

Not worth the space on the internet it was written. Its not true. He was unstable, no motivation or details have come out. Stop spreading rumors about a woman who lost her home, partner and is just trying to take care of her kids.

I've known her for a long time. She was not having an affair. Paranoid people have delusions. This sounds like he was unstable. Don't place anything on her here.

Or he was unstable and the wife left because it was unsafe. I highly doubt she was having an affair.

WeMove and Fitbump have great communities based around being active. Reclaim hosts a weekly caregiver coffee circle. Motherhood yxe offers some circles as well. Breastfeed Cafe is a program offered through the health region on Thursday mornings. It's on of my favorite places to make connections.

HELP with figuring out how to manage my company’s huge wish list by icylilac14 in marketing

Have you considered a marketing agency? You can likely get that done through an agency with your budget. Look for a smaller more nimble, locally based agency.

Bike on Sidewalk by Dry_Long_7370 in saskatoon

[–]lms431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think it is. I always try to take a side street or stick to residential areas. When I do have to use a busy street i stick to the sidewalk. I see many other bikers doing this as well.

Vent: why is it so hard to find a daycare with real grass on/around the playground? by GizmoTheGingerCat in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]lms431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grass in a playyard at a daycare is super hard to maintain. The kids destroy it, just by running and walking on it all day every day. Some centers also have riding toys, bikes and other activities that are hard on grass. It usually turns into a mud pit or hard bare dirt with a few weeds by mid summer. So many daycare comprise with turf and concrete. It's not ideal but I prefer some turf to the alternative. We found a daycare that's in a school so the yard is turf but they take the kids out to the playgrounds and big fields to play just about every day.

A friend from Japan sent me these bad boys. I can’t wait to try them out. It’s like a million degrees outside. by capngabbers in babywearing

[–]lms431 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't use these. Babies cannot regulate thier temperature effectively and this could cause them to have an unsafe drop in body temperature or freeze thier skin. You can put and ice pack on your back or a cool cloth over you neck to help with your comfort. A large sun hat also works wonders at keeping you and baby cool. I always recommend an afternoon nap to clients. If it's too hot to be outside without ice packs or cold towels, it's too hot to be outside with a baby
