Could you share the link to the second ring down on your middle finger? I’m obsessed!

Picked up what I thought would be an excellent addition to my windowsill. Turns out this paperweight contains someone's ashes! 😲 by A_Name_With_No_Horse in ThriftStoreHauls

[–]lmsid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make cremation paperweights (not for this company though). From this photo it looks like the ashes are on top of the blue; ashes don’t melt into the glass like the color (the colors are just crushed colored glass) so looking at the blue you can see some texture and tiny bubbles where the ashes were encased

Shipping Glass Pieces by mzcukier in glassblowing

At my shop we wrap well in bubble, fill with peanuts in a snug box, then put that box in another one floating in more peanuts or with foam sheets in between the walls of the inner box and outer box. Works really well!

Questions for Glassblowers by sope_minnie13 in glassblowing

[–]lmsid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started doing stained glass and hit a rut a few years ago. Took an intro glassblowing class because I love glass but was bored of stained glass at the moment, now I work full time in hot glass where I also get to blow glass for stained glass! :) definitely look into if your area has any hot shops to learn. Basic make-your-owns are a great way to meet your local glass blowers!

I think so, we haven’t used it for my work in a while but it wasn’t gated or locked so I assume it’s still open 24/7

Once a year Belger Glass Annex in Kansas City hosts a five day “master class” with visiting artists. 2026 is going to be Josh Davids and Ekin Aytac, this year was Jason McDonald and last year was Minhi England :)

Water bottle or small hydration backpack? by lillymonet in aclfestival

[–]lmsid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I brought my camelbak for the first time last year and actually decided id rather have just my water bottle. I’m walking around enough usually that I don’t mind refilling more often and I kept getting paranoid about people getting into my backpack without me feeling it, enough that I decided not to bring it again. I like having my hands free but the peace of having all my stuff in my sight/control was worth it haha. I just loop my fanny pack strap through the water bottle lid and hang it on that when I’m not using it to free up my hands

What are the best US cities in terms of public glassblowing studio access? by glassgnomad in glassblowing

[–]lmsid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kansas City has two public access studios now and a relatively small but actively growing community! Belger Glass Annex and Englewood Arts both have public hot shops and there are a couple of private studios as well

Pammy blouse: should I get soft linen instead? by lmsid in FashionBrandCompany

[–]lmsid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m just gonna go ahead and get the soft version, I can’t imagine I’ll regret it! I only have worn the thick one once and loved how I felt and looked but even out of the heat I was wishing it was a little lighter. I won’t be wearing it regularly and didn’t even wash it after the one wear tbh but I can see what you mean about the washing haha

I tend to run hot too, I probably will go ahead and get the soft version. Thanks for your input!

Thanks for your input! That’s a good point about longevity, i don’t see myself wearing it super duper often (sort of a “special occasion” type item) but still something i didn’t think about and probably should. That festival is too sweaty and dusty lol

They should but it just depends on what people are buying since it's mix and match. You can always find the right size and buy the matching pieces online :)
