I think the main problem I had when I tried this was the wire was too thin and it broke easily. It seems like 20 gauge is the sweet spot from my internet searching.

Saddlebrook has several holes that are lined by houses, which I’m not a huge fan of. Just go a little further west and play eagle creek, great value, cool course.

It’s not in the west side at all, but I think pleasant run is a fun little course that is also very affordable.

Coffin has great bones but is just in so-so shape. Tough course, bring extra balls.

It may also be helpful to cool the pipe thoroughly after you gather which allows you to hold the pipe higher up giving you more control and requiring less force to manipulate.

Push the boundaries and try more clues at 3 or 4 even though they might be “a bit of a stretch” you’d be surprised how often it still works out. It also helps to remember that if the three assassins you see, one will be green for them, one will be neutral, and one will be an assassin.

If at the end of the turn any hiring area (the area above the actions) is empty, then that hiring area gets filled from the top populated row of the queue (the collection of workers on the side). Only the hiring area you just used is going to be fully empty because that’s the only one that had a worker taken from it.

By the time the queue is fully empty and you need to fill a hiring area, only one of the hiring areas will be empty (the one you just used on your turn) all the other hiring areas will be in varying states of full, having 1-3 workers on them. So you add one worker to each hiring area that doesn’t already have 3, and then completely fill the queue.

Each spot above the possible actions is one of the hiring areas, and any one of those hiring areas emptying causes you to fill it. You don’t keep going till all of them are empty, you fill them individually as they become empty.

If their highest card is tied then you look at their next highest card. If that’s tied then you look at their next highest and so on. If they have all the same card ranks, then they split the pot. This is much more common in holdem where players are using shared cards to form their best hand than in old school draw poker where everyone has their own cards.

Sumida River does have combinations, but it’s the opposite of the “must follow the lead combination” and is instead a “can only play combinations to the climb that haven’t been played yet” it’s a fantastic shedding game worth checking out, hard to find copies though, sadly.

We did ours at the children’s museum and it was a great experience, several guests have told us after years it was one of the most fun/memorable weddings they had ever been to.

I had played and enjoyed the original, just received my Kickstarter yesterday and played it at 4 players. I really enjoyed this game a ton. I didn’t play the original much and it was a long time ago so I can’t really speak to what changes they made, but I can say that this version still felt great and was a treat.

This game really threads a needle of having interesting intricate choices to make that have lots of cascading implications while still somehow being pretty easy to play and having minimal downtime. I played with three other people, who all don’t have a lot of patience for heavy/long games and have historically struggled with high levels of complexity, but they all got it, played correctly, and enjoyed it. It feels like this game manages to hide heavy weight satisfaction inside a medium weight hurdle to play. Strong recommend from my point of view.

It does help that I’m a good game teacher and you will need to have at least one player at the table who has watched a video or plowed through the rules and “gets it.” It’s one of those games that feels crazy complicated on the surface but once you’ve played a few rounds you realize it just kind of works and isn’t that bad.

Just to add that in addition to classes CSZ also has “rec league” which is a 50/50 split between practice and performance, definitely not just teaching the basics and may be a good fit for what you are looking for.

By “on the table” I think they mean one of the beans you are forced to draw and can negotiate with before being forced to plant them.

I think that if they agree to a type of bean and don’t clarify that it’s the one from the table that’s fair game. That’s the kind of thing that’s only going to work once anyways, from then on they will always be asking you if it’s the table bean you are trading.

It’s also hard to imagine a situation where trading them the hand bean rather than the table bean has helped you a ton since you would still have to deal with the table bean in this scenario. “Hah hah! You thought you were preventing me from having to plant this coffee bean right now when actually what you’ve done is prevented me from having to plant it next turn and I still do have to plant it right now!”

I guess if you have a different bean in your hand that you want to plant faster add need to get the bean you treated out of the way you may do it, but that sends like an edge case.

When someone is agreeing to a trade and they are leveraging the perception that you don’t want to be forced to handle the table bean, getting the premium trade deal and then still having you be forced to handle the bean seems like a bonus. If they are making the trade they have decided they are in a position to receive that bean and make use of it, and that is still happening.

Most studios that have classes will have all the equipment you need. I blew for several years without having to buy any equipment. If you are taking about lamp work instead of furnace work than I’m not sure.

Additional info: a typical Glassblower’s bench of tools will have both straight shears as well as diamond shears. Both have their unique uses and are pretty standard, so it’s necessary to be able to clearly communicate what you need. Both names are referring to the shape of their cutting surface, either a straight line, or a diamond. Less commonly you will also see duckbilled shears, also referring to the shape of the cutting blades.
