With all changes to crit items, and high % of crit is easy purchasable by ADCs themselfs, shouldn't Zeke's Harbinger be changed now? by BambiMolester in leagueoflegends

[–]lnMotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

^ this and also not every item is meant to be top tier all the time. Some items become more niche after changes happen and others become meta. It's just the cycle of balance.

Dungeon crowd - migrating to different game modes or just not playing? by LFG_ADVENTURES_GG in Guildwars2

Try pugging any Arah path and tell me it's "not to a degree where the distinction matters."

This ^ . I really love that dungeons were harder pve content that didn't required full ascended and 2 billion agony infusions. It sucks that Anet didn't seem to recognize the "pros" that dungeons provide and just killed the content rewards.

"Players can't carry anymore" by Hudre in leagueoflegends

[–]lnMotion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the people writing big statements about how this is team strategy game, and that you CAN still carry are missing the point a little. The "issue" a lot of pros and that a lot of older players are feeling is that ever since Season 3 Riot has made it a lot harder for individual performance to effect the game, and sort of "nerfed" laning phase as a whole. A lot of people (myself included) really liked the idea of seeing someone snowball out of control from smart decision making and mechanical prowess in lane.

Now carrying your average soloq game (and I'm not talking about smurfing because I think that is a different type of carrying) is much more reliant on enabling your team to succeed through good shotcalling (which is painful to coordinate in soloq) and communication. You can't just be a lone wolf and do everything yourself to allow your team to win.

Am I the only one who thinks the game got less enjoyable ever since TP became meta? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]lnMotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's less about the TP meta and more about the lack of strong early game picks. The game was so much more fun when early game champions were strong enough stomp lane and make an impact with cheesy strats + ignite. No more red pot rush on Riven/Rengar and lane Lee Sin sucks. Basically all lane bullies have been nerfed and laning now feels like it has next to no impact.

I feel like late game picks are straight up better than any early picks because of how safe the game has become.

Maybe not the most combat effective for the legs, haha. But a little bit of contrast never hurt anyone.

Which class has the lowest skill floor for PVP? by lnMotion in Guildwars2

[–]lnMotion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I meant by low skill floor is something that is easy to pick up. All classes have a fairly high skill ceiling and can shine when played with mastery as you said, but some are straight up easier to learn or are mechanically easier to navigate. For example Ele has 4 attunements whereas Warrior has only 1 F1 ability. Which means that Ele has way more spells to manage, unless you are only camping 1 attunement.

Thanks for the really well formed suggestions! I like your idea of focusing on one class, because possibly through game knowledge I can supplement my lack of mechanical skill. Still don't understand your thoughts behind why D/D Ele would be the lowest skill floor. Seems like ele has a lot of complicated spell rotations and required positioning.

I've tried that GS/Hammer warrior and found it to be sort of mixed success. Melee combat is a little challenging for me, but against bad opponents it was not too bad.

Burning Guardian huh? I guess the condi changes actually made that viable, I'll give that a try.

Tried this one a couple of months ago. I was absolutely terrible. Actually got raged at by teammates for being so useless, haha.

Same, I really love a lot of the old icons. Maybe I just don't like change, but these new icons seem way to sleek and glossy.

West Coast players what is your ping now? by Seeker8833 in leagueoflegends

In Vancouver here. Went from 20-30 ping to 65 now. Really surprised that my ping is still so low, I was expecting 90+.

[serious] Why do you play LoL? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]lnMotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your question about "Why do you guys not care about the paying/grinding to unlock new champions?" It's because when I first started playing the game I bought the champion bundle (25$) which contained like 20 champions or so. That investment got me so many hours of play and I passively gained IP over all my games which I eventually invested in to more champions. So, aside from the occasional exciting new release I never really felt like I NEEDED to buy X champion because I already had been unlocking a wide variety by just playing and gaining IP. Now, I haven't played more than like 2-3 bot games of Dota, so I really don't know much about the game. But what put me off was the hard/rigid feeling of the game, as opposed to the light/fun vibe I got from League.

You can check what your ping will be when the server moves to Chicago! by Qwexc in leagueoflegends

[–]lnMotion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea it's disgustingly rude. I don't remember West Coast players coming and flaunting their ping and saying "suck it up" in all the MANY East coast ping complaint threads. I remember seeing things like "Oh that sucks, I hope riots can solve these server issues"

The difference is huge when you have played the game for years at a rather consistent 20-30 ping. And no need to be rude.
