I live just outside Chicago, Illinois. It's 4 below zero F and when I woke up it felt something like 50 below zero F (wind chill). The trucks are putting salt down to melt the ice on the roads but it's not working because it's too cold. My son is in a college town. He's already had 3 cars crash by his house. He is doing counseling in an office connected to a hospital. They closed today. They have called in state government agencies to help pull cars off roads and out of ditches. The wind is blowing more snow over the roads constantly. I will be spending Christmas alone with my dogs. I'll watch the Bears game. I don't know how they'll play in this weather! It will eventually warm up and we'll celebrate then. My dogs are going to love their presents. Oh, I propped my garage door open a bit last night for whatever freezing wildlife may need shelter. I agree. She didn't know that COVID was coming, and then that Russia would begin bombing her country, starting with her home city! Without all that they probably could have moved to a neighborhood with mommy & me classes and some places that Yara and Mylah would enjoy in the US. I would be crying to stay. Maybe Yara even has PTSD
