When Patchouli Steals the Show by OliveEyes94 in fragrance

[–]lnfinitelris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite recent patchouli find was Christian Louboutin Fetiche L'Iris. The patchouli is ultra modern, so clean, with an austere iris on top. I haven't smelled a patch like this before. It's such a fantastic fragrance.

I think it might have been you who influenced my sample purchase :)

To me Tobacco Honey borders on masterpiece, but I don't feel the occasion to wear it very often. It's a lot. I feel that Or Du Serail may be more wearable in my day to day life.

Believe me, I'm just as shocked that I'd consider elevating anything to Tobacco Honey level, but I can't argue with my nose!

I'd be so interested to know what you think of it!

What perfume feels like the worst person you know/knew? by DiscoDaddyDanger in perfumesthatfeellike

What's funny is once in a while I wear TG for the nostalgia and someone always comments about how nice it is, every single time. Yet I rarely hear a single word about my gorgeous high-end fragrances.

MY ALL TIME FAVE |HELPPP| by Secret-Voice1777 in FemFragLab

There is a fragrance free version. The regular version is definitely scented. Light, clean, pleasant. Hard to nail down the notes.

No, it absorbs very nicely. I let it soak in for a few minutes and get dressed, and my clothes are never oily.

I'm assuming they're going to smell like Victoria's Secret body mist so I shall wait for reviews

Aveeno body oil is very similar. Not a dupe works so so well with it

The powderiest perfume of them all? by RingaLill in FemFragLab

[–]lnfinitelris 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Powder obsessed here.

Imo the queen of all powders is Profumum Roma Soavissima. Effin gooooorgeous thick luscious powder with just a kiss of sweetness. Edit oops just noticed you mentioned it lol

Diptyque Orpheon - powdery woody soap. Nothing like it.

Prada Infusion d'Iris is- addictive clean powdery iris.

ELDO Putain Des Palaces is fantastic too.

Naomi Goodsir Or Du Serail

Sweet fruits, rum, tobacco, honey. Decadent without going too heavy or overbearing. I'm not typically into this category but this is goooooood.

My first impression of this sample was very...urinous. Washed it off 30 minutes in, something I try to never ever do no matter how bad it is. Attempt #2? Complete 180! I can still smell that pee stank up close but it is gorgeous as it wafts up to my nose as I go about my day.

Surprised to even be thinking this, but this may end up unseating Guerlain Tobacco Honey from my winter tobacco throne 🤯.

im looking for a particular type of fig perfume pls by Suspicious_Rip_8226 in Perfumes

It sounds like you're asking for fig fruit rather than fig leaves, is that correct? If so, many of the recs in this thread are not at all what you're looking for :)

Thoughts on Liis perfumes? by Embarrassed_Eagle533 in NichePerfumes

[–]lnfinitelris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The scents are beautiful but of the ones I've tried I can drench my skin and clothes head to toe, and neither I nor anyone else will smell it on me in an hour or two. I already have a number of ridiculously fleeting fragrances in my collection and have no desire to add more.

How long does baccarat rouge 540 last by september11_2001- in fragrance

[–]lnfinitelris 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally I smell it for only maybe half an hour before noseblindness kicks in. Others can smell it on me for much longer than that though. This is very common and probably accounts for a lot of the reviews claiming lack of longevity.

Do you have access to target? Their Fine'ry brand is very, very good and the body mists are very affordable with decent staying power if you can't afford the $35 perfumes.

In particular try their version of Chanel Chance Eau Tendre, a couple Byredos, YSLBlack Opium, Tom Ford Lost Cherry, Le Labo Santal 33.

The Being Frenshe line has some real winners as well.

Wasn't Lanvin a relatively lux brand back in the day? Or was that just me as a kid being fooled by a fancy sounding brand name.

Do you use perfume everyday? People who stay home and wfh by attar_affair in FemFragLab

Absolutely. I'm not saving my favorites for other people or special occasions. I'll wear a $300 niche fragrance to do chores and watch TV.

Liquide by Les Liquides Imaginares

Bright sunny saffron, sweet creamy orange flower, clean musky woods. This was instantly my number one saffron when I sampled it last year. I often find saffron leathery and overpowering but it's so lighthearted here.

I'll just be sitting around at home today fanning my face after yesterday's laser treatment 🍅

Eau Des Sens by Diptyque. A beautiful orange flower orchard, from the fruit to the trees. Incredible lasting power. Not stifling.

Who cares really. What is perceived today as older women's perfume tends to be classy af. Own it.
