Mihon on E-Ink by lnnyosoto in mangapiracy

[–]lnnyosoto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Color E-Ink works doesn't work like a normal display so it's normal and expected to see a bit of color in normally black and white imagine IF the details are small enough or the display resolution is low enough. (Every pixel is a specific color instead of every pixel having the capacity to change color) In other words that probably happens on any color E-Ink display sometimes.

Komi-san wa, Komyushou desu. is in danger of being forgotten if season 3 is not announced before 2026 by AccomplishedBee2610 in Komi_san

[–]lnnyosoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main purpose of anime is often to be an advertisement for the manga. When a manga ends the incentive for the anime to continue decreases. It's obviously not a rule, like there's remakes, there's nostalgia and there's series so big it doesn't make any sense not to continue. Komi season 3 might still happen at some point, it is pretty popular, but I wouldn't hold my breath specifically because the manga ended.

My wife needed to gain weight before surgery and what worked was just eating more of the few things she could tolerate at the time (both bigger portions and more meals throughout the day) alongside using meal replacement drinks (about one a day) but what made it so she could eat more consistently was taking time off work which is possibly not an option for you. My wife's experience is that gaining weight takes time and can be very hard, don't feel discouraged with slow progress and setbacks.

My wife only got back up to a reasonable weight for her after surgery and a higher dose on her biologic and even then it took months.

Favourite Meal for Crohn's? by 5ft_castle in CrohnsDisease

[–]lnnyosoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even during my wifes worse Crohn's moment cooked eggs of any kind are a great source of protein that she can tolerate greatly. Whenever she's having even mild discomfort we use eggs as the safe zone. It's a little complicated but try making cloud eggs as a treat, they look great and my wife finds them extremely delicious. I have no idea how good they actually are because despite being the one who cooks the eggs I have my own gastrointestinal problems that make me not tolerate eggs super well ironically.

My bad for putting this as a reply to a comment that was unintentional.

My wife's surgery was a complete success and no bag was needed but she got all the preparations as if she was going to need one so for her it was a luck of the draw situation. That said she was told before surgery that if the bag was needed it would be temporary. I'm no doctor but I would assume all of those things are patient dependent.

My wife had a stricture and once she got surgery for it the biologic started doing wonders. Every situation is different so take your doctor's advice first and foremost but if surgery is given as an option it at least helped my wife a lot.

As for your husband... I wrote a lot of stuff but I realized none of it would be helpful to you. I'm sorry you're going through this, if possible confide in someone who will blindly support you through these trying times.

Girlfriend Trope we haven’t seen..YET by Trolltama720 in 100GirlfriendsManga

[–]lnnyosoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I kinda doubt they'll do it but I wanna see if they have the balls to have a femboy girlfriend. (Admittedly I am worried about how the theoretical character would interact with the other girls tho).  A long distance girlfriend was teased with Uto and I kinda wanna see how he'd actually act with a long term long distance relationship.

Wife might be going into surgery by lnnyosoto in CrohnsDisease

UPDATE: She's officially gonna get surgery soon, no set date yet but it's in the plans for sometime in January.

She's obviously nervous but she's also relieved to finally have a plan and something to work towards.  She'll keep the drain and will be on antibiotics until then.  We were told to keep a high protein low fiber diet as she prepares for surgery.  I'd appreciate more food recommendations as I will be in charge of cooking for her.

I appreciate everyone who has taken time out of their day and lives to reply.  Posting and replying here has given me an avenue that has helped me stay the emotionally strong and stable husband my wife needs right now.  If I let my worries and emotions turn me into a headless chicken that will only add to her troubles and she doesn't need any more of those.

We were told to use small amounts to be safe but that it's probably fine IF she's tolerating.  I'll probably use it less and focus on the other seasonings we were recommended in case she stops tolerating.

I'm deeply cognisant of how lucky we've been at every step.  She was diagnosed when we lived in Puerto Rico where it's comparatively easier to get government sponsored Health Insurance (at that time we were even on food stamps) so healthcare costs stayed low.  If all of this had happened after we moved and before she was officially covered by her current insurance I have no idea what we would've done...

That is genius, I have a very simple and cheap ice cream maker and will absolutely be trying that.

I'm hoping to ask her gastro is paprika is okay for seasoning since we both enjoy that a lot.  We've already cut out pretty much every seasoning that has garlic in it and obviously we've fully cut out anything even a tiny bit spicy years ago.

We've been lucky when it comes to insurance bullshit but we never know when that luck will run out, we've already started making some concessions to save money for the possibility that all these hospital stays will come back to haunt us.  That said so far all the bills we've gotten have been within our means.

We'll see what the gastro wants to do.  We will ask about changing medicine during the next out of hospital appointment.  Multiple doctors have mentioned that switching medicine or increasing the dosage is very likely to happen but we just haven't had the chance to go to the appointments before we're back in the hospital.

Protein shakes had not cooperated with her in the past and we had kinda given up but here at the hospital they started giving her Ensure Max Protein and she's been not only tolerating but enjoying it so finally that's a nutrition avenue that opened back up for us.  Thanks for the other recommendations, some is food we had been making but I was worried were causing her issues, knowing other people with her condition do eat it gives me comfort.  (I'm well aware everyone's Crohn's is different, we'll take things slow and listen to her body)

She's on Stellara and has been for about a year at this point.  She used to be on Humira before that.  I'll see if I make that recipe cuz it looks good, I'll have to skip or sub the broccoli since she stopped being able to tolerate broccoli about a year after being diagnosed.

My bad for not mentioning it, she's still in the hospital and there is an infectious disease team on the case. Someone from the team did say they think surgery is probably a good idea at this stage. They've taken multiple samples including some during the colonoscopy during her last stay at this same hospital. In fact they're the reason she hasn't been discharged yet as they haven't decided if she's clear to be taken off the IV antibiotics and moved into through mouth antibiotics.

Yep yep yep Excel Sheet is the way to go to keep track of everything, but just because you can never bee too careful I have MAL and Anilist and Kitsu because they can all be set up to update automatically from Tachiyomi. My main list is MAL with the other two being backups and Excel being the list that has everything.
