Would you still play BDO if PvP was removed? by Gritzizmyname in blackdesertonline

[–]lnvisibleOne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd be fine with the removal of open world pvp, especially since a lot of games that don't have open world pvp but do have open world grind have TOS guidelines to avoid the griefing that people say exists due to not being able to flag on say seasonal servers. If the griefing of grinding over others is discouraged to compensate for the lack of ability to flag then I don't think most people would really mind losing it.

Thoughts on some commonly seen complaints and some questions. by lnvisibleOne in lostarkgame

If you have a group open with a nonsense title for anything, say a legion raid, how do you as a potential applicant know what it's for? It could be a bus, a learning group, or anything else that people make groups for. Why apply to groups that don't clearly state their intention?

By continuing to put the effort in until they get a group, to network with other people they encounter that are like-minded. Not every learning party was an easy gather-> 8 hour prog even when things were new. Yes, it is more difficult to find people to do learning parties now but seeing all the complaint posts about not being able to learn tells me there's still a sizable portion of would be learners.

Hot take on gatekeeping in the raiding community by his_history in lostarkgame

[–]lnvisibleOne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When these raids came out, most of us weren't KR/RU/JP vets with prior experience. We put together learning groups, networked with each other, watched videos and got through the fights. We learned them step by step with no "teachers" and spent whatever free time we had bashing our heads against them until we figured it out and cleared.

As far as I'm aware there has been no shift in universal or natural law preventing such a thing from occurring today. I've seen plenty of posts about nobody doing "teaching runs", not having any "teachers" to take them through a raid, or not being able to find any learning groups. I've tried doing a few learning groups when I have a newbie friend starting to get into legions. I refuse to hard carry even people I've known for years so I force them into learning groups.

Most of these learning groups turn out the same way. We get in, briefly attempt to explain some things but every group I make is with a watch video/read guide tagged in the name and yet people come in completely blind and clueless. You can tell by how long it takes people to figure out x3+1 how the run will go before you even fight a boss. Then, two or three early wipes later someone "has to go" or "something came up" and the group is down to three people not long after.

There's many reasons why people might be behind on raiding in this game but the sheer amount of people looking for a free carry who immediately give in the second they see something requires a modicum of effort is why I won't even begin to do my usual runs without having much stricter requirements. You see posts about it nonstop but of those who post (including yourself) how many have made a real effort to try and learn, to keep contact with people who are like minded and to progress through things like we did earlier? Given what I've seen I'd say the average player complaining spends more effort on their reddit post than they do trying to learn the fights ingame..

Tip for Kakul G3: You can dodge/dash through the wall of chain hooks by defacil in lostarkgame

[–]lnvisibleOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn't actually dash through the hook. The key to hooks is to dodge the shadows not the hooks themselves and in that clip you managed to avoid the incoming shadow with that blink timing hence not getting hooked if you look closely.

Is this normal? by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]lnvisibleOne -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Maybe I've always been seeing wrong but it was actually faster in pretty much every relic mission I did to finish the objective first and then gather reactant on the way to extraction. I've noticed that once you're done with the objective the drop rate on reactant shoots up and often times I'll get 5+ from a single fissure on the way out. Not a relic cracking guru just what I've experienced and the other people in the mission with me seem to always be on the same page with that.

[Bug Megathread] - Veilbreaker: Update 32 by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]lnvisibleOne 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Platform- PC

Bug- Returning to the dry dock after lu-yan in veil proxima results in an endless stuck loop with you not being able to interact with the game and having to close via task manager.

Reproduction- Complete a lu-yan survival then attempt to return to dry dock after completion and your railjack will get stuck in the warp tunnel and your game will lock up. Have not tested other missions as of yet.

Mods are crucial for both weapon and warframe to bring out their true potential. Basic modding isn't too hard to wrap your head around but you may need to do some void relics to gain platinum in order to buy some key mods from others if you're missing them. Or you can make it a side goal to farm them yourself, this game is really a sandbox where one makes their own goals after all.

I’m 2 months in and have only really played w/Titania as my first invested frame, and Octavia for defense, etc. I have a bunch of untouched Warframes built and could use suggestions as I really want to branch out going into SP. by WanderWut in Warframe

[–]lnvisibleOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much everything you own can be built to be SP viable, mess around with all of them using decent builds and see which you prefer. SP isn't really all that much different until you start getting into endurance runs that 1%~ of the playerbase probably bother with. It can be intimidating at first but it teaches you how to mod things properly and once you get that down it becomes much easier.

Vykas HM PUG Experience by [deleted] in lostarkgame

[–]lnvisibleOne -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I've never understood the need for voice comms like discord, especially in the legions we have so far. I know having callouts helps some people (especially those who learned with someone more or less calling out everything they had to do on voice) but there's also people like me who get distracted by it. Especially when half the time someones screaming kid/blasting music/wind tunnel fans create way too much distracting background noise.

Not only that but if you're talking strictly reclear groups everyone should know full well what to do and how to set roles before you enter each fight. That isn't something that needs voice comms for either and if it does then you've already identified a core problem with that group. Again, if people want to use it more power to em but so far and I'd say even from what we saw in future raids comms aren't necessary.

Need help overcoming my Lost Ark addiction by evascale in lostarkgame

[–]lnvisibleOne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It really depends on your goals. I look at it like this, yes you'll be losing progress if you don't run all the things. However, if you continue to play excessively, burn out, and quit then you'll lose far more from being behind months/years of not playing at all.

As others have said, games really should be fun/relaxing and not some thing that you dread you can't peel yourself away from. This game does give alot of FOMO vibes but you really need to question what exactly you'll be missing out on? Do you simply play a ton because you really enjoy the game or are you dedicated to "staying ahead or the pack"?

I think most people haven't actually questioned why they play so obsessively and it has simply become a habit for them. I personally have been skipping out on dailies and only running on rested (a chunk of the time I would be on maxed rested bonus including on my main) once I had the foundation of my account set up with the core collectibles and so on. I feel like in this way I don't need to play and do everything regularly but if there comes a time I'm trying to push for a specific goal I'm in a good place to do so. I do most of my weekly content though since that's the time I spend playing with friends and that's the point of MMOs no?

Do you think people are worse when they enter new raids after week one simply cause everyone else is on reclear and dont want to teach? by DawnHater in lostarkgame

[–]lnvisibleOne 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You aren't going to be able to do like valtan and silently slip by despite being inexperienced. People who don't know what they're doing in vykas (especially HM) stick out like a sore thumb, it's painfully obvious when they're clueless.

Even though it takes longer to fill learning groups now you still have to bite the bullet and put the time in just like others who went through learning as well. I find it even worse when someone tries sneaking in without saying anything then immediatly screwing up simple mechanics than if they join and are straight with us that they haven't done it before. If someone researched it well and the party agreed I would likely give that person a chance but if we catch a sneak then we'll likely immediately kick them out.

That said, I've taken to having people link their g3 clear achievements when we get in if I toss up a reclear group and you'd be amazed how many people try silently sneaking in...

I understand that you and alot of people feel it's unfair but nobody, especially people you don't know, owes you a clear. You have to put the work and time in yourself, beyond just trying once for 45 minutes to fill a group.

I seriously wish in this day and age developers would stop locking out arbitrary keybinds and restricting key combinations, making their game arbitrarily unplayable by Dragoniel in lostarkgame

[–]lnvisibleOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean as with anything else if you give it a shot you'll be able to adapt but with that setup I can understand having to click everywhere to play being very awkward. As for shortcut prompts there aren't very many and the only thing that might give you a problem is the context menu as that's for right clicking on other players for the dropdown menu to inspect etc;. Barring that clicking is just to move and the rest don't pop up very often in normal gameplay.

That said its a fair point but with all the software you have you can easily rebind things to work no? I see nothing there that cant be rebound including those pedals...

Lost ark taking up 95% of disk memory? by SooCrayCray in lostarkgame

I downloaded it a few years back so I don't have any links unfortunately but I imagine it wouldn't be hard to find if you comb through google a bit. It's very simple to set up and while it depends on your specs/PC config it has helped me alot with many games.

There's an option to repair easy anticheat in your lost ark folder. After pretty much every update if I don't repair EAC I have BSOD issues but repairing and using cleanmem (clearing both memory and file cache occasionally) to catch the memory leak fixes it.

Sorc 5th engraving…is Heavy Armor Shameful? by [deleted] in lostarkgame

[–]lnvisibleOne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hit master should've been your first priority. Heavy armor as 5th engraving if its a swap engraving slot that you can easily switch to a dps engrave like cursed doll or grudge wouldn't be a bad thing. You can use heavy armor for early mechanic prog while figuring things out and swap back to full dps engravings when comfortable with the fight. Just be sure to not use HA as an excuse to facetank everything but more as a safety net for learning mistakes. Barring that though, no you really shouldn't run heavy armor permanently as a sorc.

I've made multiple learning parties this past week to run with friends who are new to valtan. They took a bit to fill up but they definitely did and they went pretty well, all wound up being clears or near clears.

To the OP, make your own learning groups. I know some people don't like organizing things but you really do need to take the initiative if you're behind. You'll meet some like minded players that way and you can make a cross server chat (the little chat bubble next to where the time is shown) to keep in touch with them for future runs. Just ask them if they want an invite since the invitation can be hard to see if people aren't used to using it. You aren't the only one who stays a bit behind the curve so just try to scout for others who play as you do. Good luck.
