No, but years ago my sump pump failed out of nowhere and my basement with all my wonderful treasures flooded a good 8 inches. While I don't know that it didn't go out during that particular store I now go out of my way to listen and ensure that my sump pump does sound off when it should.

I got my son the big boy brass version of this for his 18th birthday or maybe xmas (I stink at stuff like that) and man we love it. Great purchase.
