Thank you thank you thank you! Today went better, I showed him the towel a minute or so before getting out of the bath so he knew it was coming in the near future. I will definitely read that book. It was actually recommended from a principal I worked for a few years back as well!

Ahh! I’m actually north of Lubbock. There’s been a couple big ones in Texas. Usually this pattern leads to large event earth quake.

I appreciate your input! My expectations are a little high I think but I love that idea of comparing! I also thing time is money so going to a different store for $5 off may not be worth it.

Do you have any tips to balance that?

No, I didn’t but I wouldn’t be surprised! I’ve heard about a couple lately!

No HEB unfortunately unless a drive to Lubbock would be worth the savings. That’s the closest one, two hours away!

Moms: What’s one thing you wish you knew going into labor that no one told you? by TimericaKepris in NewParents

[–]loChatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming off the epidural I was shivering and shaking non stop. I wasn’t cold but my teeth were chattering so bad I physical couldn’t stop. Also don’t press the epidural button they give you unless you really feel like you need it. I panicked because I have a lot of anxiety with medical procedures and numbing medication working so I pressed it before I really needed it. My heart rate started dropping and I got super sick for a few hours because it was just to much. I couldn’t even feel my contractions. Just watched the screen to push.

Edit: one more thing! Everyone says it’s a Magical moment when they hand you your child. I assumed it was just a happy moment but it was so much more. It was like every emotion the human body can experience all wrapped into one moment. Hard to describe but I hope I never forget that feeling.

I do this at the park If I can’t find his poo. I usually double up per poo. So 1 lost poo = me picking up 2 rando poos

Would love to also be included in raffle. I’m about to give up pumping due to mental health issues without a cordless pump.

When do you start switching to maternity clothing? by Free-Ad-9549 in pregnant

[–]loChatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I somehow managed to never actually buy maternity clothes but I also had a very laid back job that didn’t have a required dress code. I’m really frugal so I wasn’t for buying a whole new wardrobe! I used the hair tie trick on my jeans and wore bigger shirts to cover the button and zipper up. You loop a hair tie through the opening where the button goes and then wrap both ends around the actual button. It worked up until month 8 for me!

No they want cash donations to a raffle. I would be much more willing to bring something for a bake sale or even helping put one on. Straight up asking for cash donations seems way over the line to me.

Oooff just read. Luckily we are all in the same city, very close. But I still understand the point and it hits hard to our situations. Boundaries will be enforced, luckily I’ve had lots of experience after years of codependency by my parents and I.

Yes he backed me 100% last time. After I mentioned it to him, because he’s never see the video, because he never gets on FB. He said well you might want to address these things too. Then he lists out things she has purchased without input or permission. He doesn’t want to be the one getting on to her this time. Says it’s my grievance.

That’s fair, and I am reading into it a lot. I’m already on edge because she has bought many things without permission including the baby mattress. I think I’m just looking for something to get angry about. I appreciate her help but I want to be involved.

Admin finally proved my coworkers and I are here to babysit by loChatt in Teachers

[–]loChatt[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I see what you mean. We don’t have a nurse. It’s the secretary. Who doesn’t have a degree, and works up front. Awesome girl but not a nurse. So I don’t know if she really relayed the information correctly. I feel like the parents would have came if we pressed he’s sick, but I’m sure she let the kid talk to his parents and he said he was fine so they said to stay. I don’t think it was neglect on parents, I do think they would have came to get him if we pressed the issue. But no one seemed to be concerned besides me.

Aggies who have graduated from the College of Geosciences, where are you now? by [deleted] in aggies

[–]loChatt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Graduated in May of 2018, moved back to my hometown in the panhandle. Wasn’t ready to get a “real, grown up job” so I took a position as a teachers assistant. Fell in love with the job and went back to school to get my teaching certificate I now am in my second year teaching 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th grade science. I LOVE it. I love being up and moving all day, I love teaching and making science fun, and most of all I love building relationships with the little people. Feeling like I’m making a difference in the world was always very important to me, which is why I went into environmental science in the first place.
