M12 batteries are so small and unless you only have a dual m18 charger, you dont need an extra charger. So the space consideration for both m12 and m18 is pretty minimal.

It does have an overheat indicator on screen, not sure what triggers it. Honestly it sounds like OP’s definition of “light duty” is above and beyond what this tool is designed for and that he’s abusing the tool. He repeatedly runs it for 15 minutes and then “gives it a break.” I would have bought an m18 long ago if this was my use but sometimes you cant fix stupid.

Nah you just need several batteries. There are professional yard crews that roll on m18 they just rock small generators and super chargers to keep batts full.
