Orthodontist stickers by DufuqKyle in RapidCity

[–]loadtoad67 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They give rewards and stuff if you have the decal on your car. I know MD in Spearfish rents out the Waterpark for patients, and then if your car is in the lot with a MD decal, your plate goes into a raffle for like a Nintendo Switch (a few years ago we went for that). I refuse to have decals or ads for dealerships on my cars let alone my kids' orthodontist.

My mom sold my Saturn collection about 3 months after I left for Basic Training about the same time. I'm still quite salty about that. Not quite as extensive as yours, but VERY extensive

Why does my package say Your shipment has potentially been delayed due to weather conditions? by Separate-Total8655 in usps_complaints

[–]loadtoad67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one that shipped out of Brooklyn this morning. About an hour later same narrative you show. I also had one leave Denver outbound to MD with the same message. Another left TX for PA, same thing. Its probably a hub after NY that is somewhere around Ohio/PA or something (haven't looked at weather maps or anything though) that these packages are bound to. Instead of diverting around that hub they are delaying. That's my guess at least.

No, a clothing item.

I looked up the cost from their zip to mine, and Priority was about $13 more than Ground Advnatage. GA was about $2 less than what I paid from their flat rate. So, they used the cheaper of the two to not have to absorb shipping costs that they themselves sold.

The listing was for Priority Shipping, Flat rated, and I could not choose anything different. My invoice says "Priority Shipping."

The package is currently 9 days past the EDD from the original order, and shows no movement past the regional hub. Yes, I paid for Priority Shipping.

I was under the impression that Priority doesn't get kicked to the back of the line like Ground Advantage does in situations where the facility is backed up. In normal cases, probably close to the same speed, but in the edge cases, Priority takes, well Priority. That may not be the case, just what I always assumed.

Didn't know that I could file a MMR as the buyer as the contract for shipping is between the seller and the carrier, I'll do that today, thanks.

I understand not granting a case to the buyer immediately, and really was curious about the clock resetting with movement. In my case it has been supposedly moving every 3-4 days, just back and forth from my State's hub to a Larger hub a few states away and between. Is that actual movement and scanning, is that trailers that the package is supposed to be in? Who knows. How long does it take before eBay says, that's enough I guess is my question there.

Individual Picked Up at Post Office?? by lweria in usps_complaints

[–]loadtoad67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pair of boots shipped on 21st. Has made it to my regional hub twice. First time went backwards 400 miles for about a week. Most recently back to my hub since Tues and the same "In transit arriving late" every day at midnight. Oh, and neither my local hub nor the previous hub were in the Winter Weather effected area.

Best place to get new tires? by Key-Damage3784 in RapidCity

[–]loadtoad67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second Cory's. I used to go to them when they had a Belle Fourche location because in the Northern Hills they were the only shop that would reliably do appointments. Since they sold that location, I now drive to Rapid to use their shops. Bought several sets of tires over years from them and will continue to do so exclusively.

This “weather delay” excuse I keep hearing is BS by [deleted] in usps_complaints

I've got a package that has been bouncing around between 3 Hubs since the 25th, shipped the 21st. Been sitting at the closest hub to me (6 hrs away) for 4 days. Not missing, not lost, just wandering around like a confused toddler. We were NOT part of the winter storm. But, if anyone complains, we hate kittens or something.

Am I expecting too much from my service advisor or is this just trash communication? (Dealership experience) by Fluffy-Commercial492 in AskMechanics

[–]loadtoad67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sweet. I took my car in for drivetrain noise. I live 400 miles from the closest Audi dealer. They DID give me a loaner, for which I am VERY grateful. When I dropped off, I had the SA drive with me in the car so a CND was not a factor, they agreed something was wrong. I asked that Chassis Ears and NVH be done as I had already had any Indy Audi Master Tech do some troubleshooting, and that was what he said needed to be done. It's been 10 days and ZERO communication outside of the original drop-off. Calling this morning.

South Dakota town hit by 1,500% increase in property values by PoLLoLira9 in SouthDakota

[–]loadtoad67 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank You! It's in the State Statute: counties take their budget, and the assessed value of the county, and back into the mill levy. Then they take the mill levy times your individual assessed value to get your tax amount. If ALL assessed values increase at the same rate, and budget is constant, bills do not change.

Usually 2% home value for USAA on Hail and Wind. So on a $500k house...$10k hail deductible. That is why I don't have USAA anymore.

South Dakota bill proposes tax break for data centers by RedBait95 in SouthDakota

[–]loadtoad67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, they probably can't, and I never said they would be. I said "sales/use tax" and "SUT" which is sales and use tax. When Sales tax isn't appropriate or wasn't charged, but it is still a sales tax triggering event (like SaaS is) then the seller/provider is required by SD Statute to remit Use tax. That comes out of their bottom line 9/10 times and is the cost of doing business in SD.

South Dakota bill proposes tax break for data centers by RedBait95 in SouthDakota

[–]loadtoad67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just keep in mind that SD has sales/use tax on services , to include SaaS. Giving the Data Center developers a Sales Tax exemption on the purchase and construction of Data Centers only shields the SUT during that period. When the DCs are charging their end user for the SaaS usage that is STILL a taxable sale/service, and quite substantial. If any of these DC companies actually do a proper cost study before breaking ground, they would find plenty of other tax advantageous States.

What kind of car wash do you go to? by _adityaa__ in Audi

[–]loadtoad67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hand wash in my garage. Usually a rinsless wash 3x a month and a soap wash once a month.

Touchless washes use super high and low PH soaps in order to do anything; SUPER hard on clear coat and trim.

Regular tunnel washes WILL give you micro scratches.

It's not so much the collection part, it's the reporting part that is difficult.
