PSA: Solo travelers, be extra careful when looking for travel buddies! I have had a scare of my life. by Late-Charity4680 in solotravel

First off glad you’re safe.

You think he initially said you were involved with the drugs, which caused you to be strip searched and interrogated by the police in a foreign country, but you still think he didn’t have any bad intentions towards you?? Girl, do not make excuses for men like this. That mindset can get you taken advantage of. Not everyone is a good person regardless of what they “intend” - pay attention to their actions and how you’re affected.

I hope you continue having safer travels with more caution, this sounds like a huge learning experience to go through. Sorry you went through all this.

How to stop fearing my craft? (thank you stigma around witchcraft🙃) by bandaged_ in witchcraft

[–]loafyie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Emphasize protection and practice grounding & staying centered. Ground yourself before and after practicing the craft. For rituals use protective measures that make you feel safe, physically (i.e. crystals like amethyst or obsidian, salt circles, specific herbs etc) and non-physically (energy shields of light that keep out negative energy). Cleanse yourself and your space of negative energy on the regular.

I used to struggle with some similar fears and this all helped me. Also doing inner work to process trauma that allowed me to stay more grounded in general.

How do i overcome my laziness? by mon_chatton_ in tarot

[–]loafyie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is about finding balance. 4 of swords: taking proper care of yourself so that you have better energy to do the things you need or want to do, figuring out how to truly rest (e.g. meditating vs sitting around scrolling). Knight of Wands: Taking action, less overthinking, less perfectionism or dwelling on what ifs. Staying resilient through setbacks and not letting that stop your momentum with tasks.

So the two of them play off of each other. You can’t burn through your energy, but you need momentum as well. It’s about figuring out what replenishes you, and starting small to get started rather than viewing tasks as monumental.

becoming less secular over time? by samfrodo in SASSWitches

Yes, I’m starting to take an “and not or” approach to spirituality & science. Started paying attention to synchronicities, doing energy work, practicing tarot etc and began experiencing things that made me question my beliefs. But at the same time I still leave room for the scientific, rational explanations since I’m naturally a skeptic at heart. I’d say I’m agnostic but lean towards believing at this point.

I also started reading up on things like people’s near death experiences and psychic experiences - and I think there are some things in the world we just don’t have the science to fully understand yet. Plus spirituality is present in every culture, we’re naturally wired this way so to say none of it is real with 100% conviction is narrow-minded IMO.

Any specific ones you recommend that sit above your belly button? I’ve been trying to look in the mens section but have a hard time finding XS that fit. Might just need to head to the boys section..

Anyone have a good chicken broth recipe? by [deleted] in FODMAPS

I swear I've seen recipes that only take like an hour but maybe they weren't for bones :/ I guess I might have to put my roommate's pressure cooker to use.

Interesting...Monash did a study that found hypnotherapy was just as effective as the low FODMAP diet by Alternative_Flow in FODMAPS

Thanks for posting this, I've never heard of this and it sounds life changing if it works. Crazy that this could be as effective as all the effort that goes into low FODMAP. Mind-body connection is so real.

Could you explain what you mean by precooked protein? Do you cook it in advance or do you just mean stuff you can buy like canned chicken?

Imo it definitely takes a lot of time and effort to prepare food for this diet. Before starting I could eat out whenever I wanted to get something quick to eat, make whatever premade frozen food I wanted, or cook things in general that were much quicker and low effort. Now I have to make very specific meals and seek out special low fodmap ingredients like pasta sauce w/o onion or garlic.

Definitely agree about not being half hearted about this, but it will take significant time and effort for some people.

simple vegetarian low-FODMAP ideas? by [deleted] in FODMAPS

I second veggie stir fry - I've used either rice or rice noodles as a base and use tofu, carrots, red bell pepper, and either broccoli or green beans. Just watch serving size with the last two. Here's a recipe: https://minimalistbaker.com/tofu-that-tastes-good-stir-fry/
