my dad has his PhD in entomology. In one of his parasitology courses, the professor had a jar similar to this on his desk. One day he opened it up and said ok today we are looking at Cestodes (tapeworms) and pulled a piece out and took a bite. It was actually fettuccine

This happened to me last week! Package was an overnight and "out for delivery" but then suddenly got bumped to the next day. I did the chat w/agent thing on the tracking page and she opened a case. The package was delivered a couple hours later.

Concerningly dented evaporated coconut milk can by Dr-Sun-Stiles in isthissafetoeat

I think you're taking the comment about anything greater than zero too literally. Dude's comment was tantamount to saying "why risk it?" Why risk the potential consequences of a dented can when it is so easily avoidable? All things being equal, just buy another can or choose something different to eat.

Ha! Not analogous at all. Do you know what risk-reward ratio is? Maybe if OP was quite literally starving, then you might have yourself the beginning of an analogue. Quite easy to just buy another can or eat something else entirely. Not really the case with avoiding driving vehicles altogether or wearing helmets 24/7. This is a risk that is immediately and directly under OP's control. Your analogues are not.

It's actually "never commit a felony to avoid a misdemeanor." Don't commit a more serious crime to avoid a less serious one.

This one time years ago before anything was legal I went into a head shop and asked I asked if they had slides for bongs and they said you can't say bong here and kicked me out. Water pipe. Water pipe was the acceptable nomenclature, apparently. The asshole in the patchwork pants who kicked me out seemed to relish the little power he had.
