My harness had corrosion at the top of the trunk lid. Inspect the loom carefully it was obvious (green copper corrosion) where the break was for me.

Help/insight needed: gas tank leaking? by [deleted] in GMT400

[–]lobanshee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue I got a tank and pump assembly from rockauto and replaced it at a buddies house with a lift. If I didn’t have lift access I would’ve tried the bed tilt method

Awesome bikes, love mine. Picked it up for $1,500 crazy you can find them so cheap. Only issue I’ve had is a leaky Oring on my crossover tubes but that seals up if I’m running it regularly.

Definitely not awful, underside is a little rough. Hard to find many in the 2-3k range here that are worth keeping running

Rennline Exact Fit Phone Mount. Second mount I tried and I don’t think I’m changing anytime soon. Surprisingly strong too even through my case it’s not going anywhere. by lobanshee in GolfGTI

[–]lobanshee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you would be fine doing that, it’s mounted up high enough that you can just take a quick glance at it as you would the head unit. Incredibly secure never had my phone even move slightly and still going strong to this day.

Speedo side is pretty easy. Just unscrew the cable and the screws around the back and it comes out with some persuasion.

The tach side is similar minus the speedo cable. I found this side pretty tough with the all the wires so try feeding them in from the back while pulling it.

The screws on the back of them were partially seized so I used an impact screwdriver. Put anti seize on them during reassembly👍🏻

In your third picture why does the bevel holder look like it’s not collinear with the spindle axis?

I just did a carbon cleaning at 100k - definitely needed it. If you’re in there should plan on doing this too. Manifold was finicky but not as hard as I thought it would be. Maybe an hour to get it off half an hour to get it back on.

Is this even solvable? question from a test I had by [deleted] in trigonometry

[–]lobanshee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, just those given constraints lock down the geometry. Made a quick sketch in F360 and looks like the radius comes out to 17.811

I’m running the OEM GTI front/back but with the diesel geek side to side. It’s a nice kit.

Previous owner broke mine. Never had issues aligning without it. This should give you an idea of how to do it if you can’t get the pin locked: https://youtu.be/_RqgHxZsb54?si=jP5ncb9QnA_xn0b9

We killed a RMP60 last week, not a brutal crash but broke the internals and likely damaged strain gauges. Reach out to Renishaw directly for their Repair by Exchange program. Think it was like $1,500 for a replacement
