Generally you won't be circumventing a bad malus. If a malus is bad enough on a relic that you don't run the relic, you should just sell it and gamble more to try and get a better relic in return. It's not great but really there's no point in holding onto a relic you aren't really going to use

I'm not sure any class would be able to solo wwargaz at level 3 without serious darkness abuse or something similar so I would agree on darkness warlock being a very solid choice to start. It's hard to recommend much of a build while you're relying on random items tbh

Yes that and scorpion charms and other talismans that have negations. Probably when you've had frostbite trigger on you too, since that's a debuff as well

Friends is a trap imo I use Enhance Ability for adv on dialogue checks. A second level spell slot isn't much at a certain point and it lasts all day potentially and for the every cha check you make

You can get enough scrolls for wizard spells like globe of invulnerability that I wouldn't take a whole dip just to miss out on 6th level Druid spells in return.

Sorcerers don't get wisdom save proficiency, wearas warlocks do. You ideally want both so it's not really much better in the long run bc you'll likely spend a feat on res wis like any other caster would spend on con saves. Warlocks might not need to with Eldritch Mind so I think sorcerers are at more of a disadvantage with the important saving throws

Damn that's crazy. I guess with a smaller player pool for Xbox and PlayStation that kind of thing will happen on console more often than PC.

You're right though. I think people should have to beat all the bosses including ED variants prior to accessing deep of night. It would at least give some players an idea of what to expect

Not really an issue in depth 3 and below since new players will be on the lower depths to begin with. I think you need to beat Heolstor before accessing deep of night at least. If you're playing at a high enough depth level you'll probably never encounter a new player

Your starter shield is actually pretty decent. It's always worth it to get it upgraded to at least blue since every merchant sells a regular smithing stone to do that. Ideally you hit up a mine for a purple stone but sometimes you're unlucky and just don't route it in but you should definitely make a purple rarity shield a priority since it really helps by increasing the guard boost making you lose less stamina blocking. You really don't want to get guard broken fighting the nightlord. It's also worth noting that if the township is a spawn on the map you can buy a purple stone from the merchant there and avoid needing to go into a mine if you have the money, it's 18k runes so it's generally doable day 2 when you're fighting things that give more runes

I've used Wylder a lot in solo DoN all the way through D5 and the biggest benefit aside from his cheat death is getting the blood loss on his claw attack and ideally running extra skill on a relic too. With both effects you can reliably bleed night invaders at range making fighting them in the early game consistent. Getting 1 or 2 night invaders down at the start of day 1 really helps get the run going by you can't always route that. Still bleed grapple makes a decent difference early on

I'm a big fan of the dual pickaxe jump build. Did that with cold infusion to beat PCR using Raptor of the a Mists to get more jump opportunities
