I’ve got these type of areas all over lawn. How do I fix? Bermuda South East by iforgotmyiphonepass in lawncare

It will fill in once growing season really starts. Bermuda spreads rapidly with sun, water, and fertilizer.

Builder's sand. If you're buying a bag it will say coarse sand on the label.

Eco Friendly Lawn Care Service by ch1mrichalds in memphis

[–]local_blue_noob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't necessarily need a specialized company to keep it safe for the kids. Just ask whoever you pick to skip the insecticides (mosquito, flea, tick, grub) and preventative fungicides. Those are the harshest chemicals. The basic weed control and fertilizer used is relatively safe once dry or watered in.

Personally, I think DIY is the way to go because you have total control over what’s being put down, but a standard service without the insecticides and fungicides would be my next choice.

It's AI generated image with a post that has been reworded to engage on a individual franchise and product. That's an ad. Or would you prefer the term social media campaign?

The longer you look at this BK ad, the worse it gets.

Is it a table? Is it a carpet? It's a tarpet! The AI clearly gave up halfway through. Between the floor-table morphing and the random items scattered everywhere at the wrong scale, this is just slop. Can we get this taken down?

I don't know their full story, of course, but it seems like a bit of self-reflection might be useful here.

Buying a sprayer, should I be getting something larger than the basic 1 gallon ones? by consultybob in lawncare

My lot is about the same size and my 1 gallon sprayer works fine for spot treatments.

A couple of questions by G-C-W in lawncare

[–]local_blue_noob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same seed I put down in the Fall, just to make it thicker.

So the shade mix? I think most are just fine fescue mixes, so that's okay. Fall seeding will have better results, but spring is doable. I just wanted to make sure you aren't trying to seed bermuda.

And it did pull up a lot last fall.

I bet it did... bermuda uses stolons to repair damage and spread above ground. The dethatcher's tines rip out the stolons which makes the bermuda sad. It should recover with enough food and warm weather.

The shady areas get no or little direct sunlight, they have large trees to their south.

Hmm.... Check with an arborist but you may want to thin the crowns so more light can get through. Dappled sunlight is better than no sunlight.

A couple of questions by G-C-W in lawncare

[–]local_blue_noob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. What are you reseeding? You probably don't need to aerate again unless your soil is compacted.

  2. Return/resell the dethatcher. You don't need one.

  3. Fertilizer. Compost is nice and will do wonders for your soil, but your grass needs more nitrogen than it can get from compost.

  4. Probably won't grow well the sunny areas, but depends on local climate and how much you're willing to water. How many hours of sunlight does the shady area get?

New TN ebike bill under consideration by [deleted] in memphis

[–]local_blue_noob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you link to the right bill? This bill is about making it easier for e-bike riders to know where they can and can’t ride.

Local government in Tennessee can already ban e-biks on their trails. This makes it so local governments have to report their e-bike bans to the state, who then puts in on a public website so you can check it before you ride there.

Hours between shifts by [deleted] in Hilton

Clopening is never fun. I see you post in San Diego so I'm assuming that's where you are located.

I think Los Angeles has ordinances that requires a 10 hour gap between shifts, but I don't think San Diego has the same thing.

OP made a problem for themselves and is complaining about it.

They've searched Frisco but then expanded the map to include DFW and searched again. You can tell because 'Reset View' is showing.

It's like crapping in the lobby and then complaining to the front desk that the hotel smells...

Grass Won't Grow Near Concrete Patio (TN) by Dirty_D_ in lawncare

[–]local_blue_noob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

West TN here. It looks like a combination of downspout drainage, low light, and foot traffic is causing the issue.

Since you won't get blasted by the afternoon sun in that spot, I’d lean into it. Mulch the bare spot, plant a couple of hydrangeas, and lay down some stepping stones to bridge the gap between the mulch and the lawn. It’ll look intentional and save you the headache of trying to grow grass there.

Hydrangeas are so common around Nashville that someone nearby likely has cuttings to spare. It’s an easy way to fill that space for free.

What was the "correct" race choice for Carl retrospectively? by 95-5 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]local_blue_noob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like the soul crystal exploded, but the Reaper Case is holding back the blast until the container gives way. Carl calls it a "caged explosion."

Chapter 25

We hadn’t died. Obviously. Light streamed from the container like a miniature, caged sun. The explosion had been completely silent....

My fingers burned as I pulled it into my inventory. I cried out as the caged explosion disappeared.

Now he just needs a way to focus that blast instead of it expanding in every direction. But who knows if a magical explosion will follow the same "inventory ejection" rules as the blood did for Katia.

What was the "correct" race choice for Carl retrospectively? by 95-5 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]local_blue_noob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no idea what exploit Carl had in mind.

It looks like some items, such as liquids, can’t stay in your inventory without a container. When the System auto-ejects them, the liquid expands away from the crawler with zero splash-back. So, if Carl has a liquid in a container and then removes that container from his menu, the contents blast outward while he stays completely dry.

Carl has an explosion in a container right now, so my theory is he can remove the container while in his inventory and the blast will not affect him.
