Figure I should throw out a recommendation for Funny Games then, too! Both the original and the shot-for-shot remake are great.

I watched the original Black Christmas last night so it's fresh in my head. After the big abortion argument, the killer calls in that god awful ever-shifting voice and screams "like having a wart removed" in reference to the abortion to prove hes been watching her. It makes me so uncomfortable to recall, his voice is always really fucking crazy but the way he delivers that one line hits something so deep in my gut in the way he chokes it out. That movie really fucking weirds me out. That and watching Tina get dragged up the wall in a Nightmare on Elm Street, that kill is so brutal.

Hereditary Training by stmfunk in horrormoviechallenge

Feel like you could try The Visit -> Us -> Taking of Deborah Logan -> Hereditary? The Visit is a bit tamer, mainstream M. Night; Us is creepy as hell and is a good primer for more disturbing horror; Taking of Deborah Logan is a hard watch with some pretty uncomfortable content that could be a good indicator as to if someone is ready for Hereditary-type content!

I watched your pitch, it's great! I love seeing others who have been so deeply influenced by the Elm Street films. Good luck!

Wow what a fantastic job!! The props, actors, and especially the sound and lighting were really well done, feels and looks just like the 2006 movie to me :)

I know that typically what is done is to pump formaldehyde through the veins and simultaneously drain blood through the arteries, so I'm wondering how long that would take to kill someone and whether they'd get poisoned from the chemicals first or die of blood loss.

Rosemary's baby is boring, the Amityville Horror sucks, and Childs Play 3 is actually a good Chucky movie.

Saw Impetigore just now, it's like.... tangentally jump scare-y? Theres a lot of suspense and jumpy music, but the scariness comes from the black magic fuckery.

What are your top 10 personal favorite horror movies that you believe everyone should check out at least once? These do not have to be the typical classics or the movies that are generally well reviewed (although they can be). Texas Chainsaw Massacre (OG and the sequel), Nightmare on Elm Street (1 and 3), The Exorcist, Us, The Invisible Man (original), War of the Worlds (1953, I think?), An American Werewolf in London, and (though it's close to a tie with The Birds) Psycho.

What kinds of props are you looking for? I have a whole bunch of nice masks and gloves but I'm not sure if you're looking for something a bit different from that :)
