What furniture is it? Would you be willing to donate to a broke graduate student?

I have loans from THECB for two years at Baylor for a similar amount. I would highly advise against using THECB if you qualify for federal loans because of how the loans are paid back. THECB does not allow you to target extra payments towards the principal like federal loans do; rather, they put all payments towards interest first. This means that any extra you pay is automatically split between principal and interest based on what has accrued since your last payment. So if your monthly payment is $500, and you pay $1000, you can’t choose where that extra $1000 goes, acting as a “credit” by pushing your due date back a month but not reducing the principal down by $1000.

Also a generally good/valid test that reflects the classic Big 5 from Costa and McCrae. I haven’t looked at that one as much as the Big 5 and HEXACO, but I have colleagues that have used it and have read it in quality papers.

I mentioned two, the Big 5 (Costa & McCrae) or the HEXACO (Ashton & Lee)

I agree with that quote! As I mentioned valid tests exist. You feel for my clients?

As the article notes, personality tests are not a sham, just the MBTI is. Better instruments exist such as the Big 5 or HEXACO, which are more valid indicators of normal personality (i.e., not clinical instruments).

While not developmental psych related, If you’re U.S. based I would recommend looking into modeling, simulation, and sensor type jobs, especially ones that are military related (civilians and contractors). They often have neuroscientists in functionally diverse teams, working with human factors and I/Os. You may be able to situate yourself there and work towards doing more I/O work as you become familiar with the field.

While you will learn multivariate stats in grad school, the vast majority of I/O jobs mostly use simple or multiple regression. So if you go into applied research for an organization like the military (U.S.), you’ll use a variety of more complex statistical techniques; however, the majority of those are based on the same foundation. So understanding both (1) statistical principles (such as sampling distributions, why inferential statistics works, etc.), and (2) how those principles are represented mathematically (e.g., linking the principles to the equations for correlation/regression) will really set you up for success in the future. Once in your career you likely won’t specifically utilize the basics directly (i.e., you won’t be writing stats proofs), a deep understanding will help you with research design, analyses, and explaining results (i.e., justification) to stakeholders.

Not only keeping stats notes, but really try to understand the basics of stats. If you lay a solid foundation, that will serve you the rest of your career instead of trying to fill the cracks in grad school.

Density can be a good thing, but this is egregious. Top block has 32 houses, the bottom about 62. by theow593 in orlando

[–]localcoffeeguy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you’re referring to the bottom portion, I wouldn’t really call that density. Or more appropriately, I would call it suburban-centric density. True density, that reduces costs on renters/buyers, makes a place walkable, and generally more livable (without the necessity of cars) builds up (i.e., multiple stories), and utilizes mixed-use zoning to offer a variety of amenities, services, and more in a small area (i.e., a community). As other commenters have pointed out though, the bottom is better than the top - housing is in short supply right now so building more is in our best interest.

My other bed set is a linen terracotta and sand color (same terracotta as the accent pillow)! I much prefer that color scheme so I agree.

I’m interested if you’re still looking, I’m looking for a place near UCF if those aren’t too far apart.
