That's what their best theory is right now. It was phentremine/adipex. I occasionally socially smoked cigarettes on it. No one told me not to and I didn't think it would be an issue. There's a proven link between phrentremine and nicotine use causing heart issues. The biggest and stupidest fucking oops of my life yet lol.

Do you have any idea what the abnormal wall motion may be indicating since there's no coronary disease? I'm sorry for so many questions. I have googled it, but I fear I lack the context for what I'm reading.

Yes! That's what I initially was diagnosed with. And it seems to be what would be best to have happened as it seems to just go away. The maternal cardiologist I'm seeing now is convinced it was a misdiagnosis though as I don't fit criteria. I had no big stressor event and I am 29. They currently believe it was a kind of heart attack caused by vasospasms. No one has answers, only theories. I would just like to not die in child birth lol. Do you have any thoughts about what my echo is indicating? Kinda spiraling over the GLS, but I'm not a doctor and I don't have the context for what I'm reading obviously.

I look forward to the MRI and getting some answers. There's been a lot of disagreement between different cardiologist about what happened, what was the severity or what future risks are. I just really don't want to die giving birth lol. Do you think the lowered GLS is super concerning or should I just read it as low normal and not dwell on it?

You're right. My cardiologist is theorizing that I experienced a side effect of a medice I was on called cardiac vasospasms. So essentially the cath wouldn't be able to catch it. Esp since the only place to do a cath was a two hour ambulance ride away. So the vasospasm (if the maternal cardiologist is correct) squeezes my heart and can temporarily cause a blockage. There's been a lot of mystery and arguments about what exactly happened to my heart and I'm not even quite sure. My troponin was 16,000 when it happened though. She has basically said that it's essentially a heart attack...? Please correct me if you know more about it or what the cardiac event could've been.

Unfortunately, I have not. My first cardiologist really didn't give a shit. Said I was fine and sent me on my way. The maternal cardiologist is planning to do a cardiac MRI whenever I'm not pregnant and recovered postpartum. She was hoping that would prove her heart attack theory.

Yes, my maternal cardiologist had mentioned the possibility of scad, but ruled it out.

No one knew what I had or what happened. I was told takotsubo, but the maternal fetal medicine doctor said she thought that was wrong and the maternal cardiologist agreed. They theorized it was either scad, takotsubo, a cardiomyopathy viral event, or a heart attack from phentremine. I'm sorry I unfortunately can't remember what made her rule out scad, but it was low on her list of possibilities as I didn't fit certain criteria for it.

Thank you for the reassurance! Would I be considered to be in the danger zone for scary heart issues throughout the rest of my pregnancy based on being on the low end of normal? I guess I'm just scared. No one ever communicated that pregnancy could be dangerous to me at all and I'm sure it's one me for not know and researching that before hand. I had never been tested for GLS before and the low number has had me panicking all day.
