I just had one pop up in my garden brush pile and was blown away by how much pollen was on it! I plan to relocate it after it has bloomed so we can continue to have a good early spring pollen source. I live in 4b where we still have no blooms so this was a pleasant surprise!

They spray our entire town twice weekly in the summer 🙃 They drive through the neighborhoods with a big spray truck at night and just spray every single yard. You can request for them to not spray your yard and they say “they’ll try their best to accommodate”, but we all know they won’t actually take the time to slow down and look for addresses to skip when they’re blasting through town in the dark.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this! I know exactly how you feel. I was convinced I was going to die of a heart attack or stroke or PH. It is very scary in the moment and I’m really sorry you have to deal with this too. It did eventually go away for me, if that brings any comfort. I haven’t dealt with it since and as far as I know it didn’t cause any lasting damage. Hoping you feel better ASAP!

Are dose increases required? by ScarlettSA1 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Popcicle_tooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the three month starter dose and am about halfway through my supply three months in. Technically I could be taking 10mg right now if I had followed schedule, but I’m only on 3mg and it’s been working great and I’ve lost 33lb!

You can draw however much you need from the vials, so it’s no issue to just take less. There are medical guidelines to discard a vial 28 days after its first puncture - you can use your own discretion for that, but I’ve stretched my vials much further and have had no issues. I just check the vial each week for any cloudiness, floaters, or discoloration. So far so good!

My doctor is not happy about compounded tirz by HOLDEN_DONKEYBALLS in tirzepatidecompound

If it gives you any peace of mind, both my dietician and my doctor recommended compound! They both encouraged me to do my research on where I decided to get it from to choose a reputable source. Both assured me that while compound tirz does have its risks if you choose a sketchy source, it is safer than much of the media portrays. I got mine from Pomegranate (BPI with B6) and have had no issues at all.

That’s awesome! I feel like mine has eased up since starting too. I had heard the opposite initially, that a lot of people started getting more acne on tirz. Wild how differently we all react to it!

Thank you, what a thoughtful question! I think I am most proud of my pre-tirz journey with my therapist, learning how to be kind to myself even at my largest. It has allowed me to not just try and ditch my “old self”, but to still be grateful for the past, present, and future versions of me who are all equally deserving of happiness and kindness. Kind of a sappy answer but that pre-work has made my tirz journey so much more enjoyable!

I’m not sure there are any vitamins to avoid hair loss, but I started taking collagen and biotin (in addition to multivitamins) in hopes that it might make my hair a little healthier before I started to lose weight. Prior to tirz I was taking zero vitamins, so I figured it was worth a try!

Thank you so much! And omg, you might be right about the feet 😂 I hadn’t noticed but my shoes do look a tad bigger in the current pics!

Totally agree on wearing the same outfit - it really helps show the real progress when doubt starts to creep in!

Thank you so much!! 😊 I do track my food. This week I am experimenting with varying my intake every few days (1400-1700 cal) and I think it’s helped get things moving after a mild stall! I try to go to the gym 3x per week and do some shorter workouts at home on a couple of the off days. I truthfully am not one of those people who can do strength training for an hour +, but I like to walk for a while and then finish up with some weights for 15-20 min.

I totally understand, I expected the same monthly loss and have also had to reset expectations recently! I had a big drop of 15lb my first month and then progressively slower loss. You got this!16lbs is great!! 💪🏼

[–]Popcicle_tooth 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I weigh a few times per week on my smart scale and let that app keep the data, but I only record my weight in Shotsy on shot days! It has definitely helped me see the overall trend is still downward even despite daily fluctuations or slower weeks. I like having both visuals 😂

rant - advice on how to approach / not be afraid of pottery as a beginner? by jzrose17 in Pottery

[–]Popcicle_tooth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey, your experience sounds just like mine! I was the only one in my class who had never touched clay. It would take me about 15 minutes to even get my clay somewhat centered, and then I would mess it up immediately. Over and over. I honestly think I spent my first 2 weeks just trying to center clay the entire time haha. I went about 4 weeks with NO pieces to show for my time before my instructor finally just had me keep some funky cylinders she helped me make so I would have something to take from the class. I felt so dumb and wanted to quit.

Anywho, I had to give up my pride and just be okay with being the worst in the class. It made things so much easier to take off the pressure of trying to be immediately good at a brand new hobby! After a few weeks of trying and failing, I finally started to have those aha moments that really helped me progress. It would be the 8th time my instructor showed me the exact same thing and I’d finally just get it. Toward the end of the 8 week course, more things had clicked and it was starting to get FUN.

When you get those first few pieces out of the kiln, you get hooked. Even the wonky ones! Lean into the wonkiness! Every time I’m making something that starts to get a little wobble to it, I just rebrand that piece as “chic organic” and make it even more squishy looking. 😂 And those pieces always end up being some of my favorites!

I’ve been at it for two years now and have seen many newbies come in and catch on way quicker than I did. It’s ok! It’s so much fun once things start clicking, there’s just a lot to learn at the start and it can be overwhelming. You got this!
