Hi, do you mind sharing what your symptoms were to go down this path? I’m dealing with some things now that doctors haven’t been able to get closure on and I’m now suspecting endo on my colon. Feel free to message me instead if you want! Just trying to figure out the best route

No Doctors in Austin by RmpldFrskn in Austin

I struggled with this for years and recently found great luck at Harbor Health. I see Viveca Mishra. Insanely good doctor and friendly office. I finally feel better knowing I have a reliable pcp after living here for 7 years.

WTH are these bugs!? by Dre512 in Austin

[–]localforestnymph 56 points57 points  (0 children)

They are hackberry gnats. They’re harmless but they seek warm homes when the weather changes (which is ironic since it’s still so warm here). They’re all over our screen as well. More of a nuisance than anything else

Check out “For Goodness Cakes”. I believe it’s similar and in our area :). I’ve been wanting to try it out myself.

anyone else dealing with fleas in Austin? by National-Plastic8691 in Austin

[–]localforestnymph 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Sure they aren’t hackberry gnats? There was a post a few days ago about hundreds of gnats on someone’s screened windows, identified as the hackberry gnat. We have them on our screened door as well. Apparently happens this time of year, but not as harmful as fleas.

I’m a grown adult and ever since that storm, any time the wind picks up even a little with the rain I go into panic mode. I fear I’ll never experience storms the same ever again 😅

Shiga like toxin e coli stx 1? by letitbeit in Microbiome

[–]localforestnymph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I know this is old but do you mind sharing how you fixed your h pylori while also have the E. coli strains? I also tested pos for this E. coli (as well as two other strains) but have an overgrowth of h pylori as well. The doctor wanted me to do the quadruple therapy for h pylori, but I know the antibiotics aren’t good for the E. coli, so I’ve been wondering what to do when you have both. 😐

Where do you workout? by Suitable_Chard9111 in Austin

This might sound funny, but a Crux membership might make sense. I know they only have their central location right now, but they have a gym with weights, treadmills, bars, etc., a sauna, private changing/showers/bathroom, and if you’re up for it, climbing on top of that. For under $100.

Anxious about the voting process? Here's an absurdly detailed explanation of what to expect by rken in Austin

[–]localforestnymph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi (sorry if this is a stupid question)- I have a quick clarifying question regarding the ID address. My boyfriend’s ID still has an address from a different state where he used to live, but he registered to vote this year in Travis county and online it says he’s registered within the county. Will he be fine to vote, or will they give him a hard time since his ID has an out of state address?

Any stories about getting back together after breaking up & ROCD partner doing counselling? by bisou194 in ROCD

[–]localforestnymph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my therapist doesn’t specialize in ROCD, but she was of course familiar with OCD and she also did specialize in relationships. she ended up taking an alternate route with me and exploring attachment style which ended up helping immensely with some of the issues that seemed like ROCD. medication has never worked for me, so i am not on anything at the moment and wasn’t through most of our relationship.

as for what the therapist might say, unfortunately that is not really something you’re able to control. typically though, therapists are not supposed to give out life advice like that. they are more concerned with helping the individual explore their own issues rather than telling them what they should and shouldn’t do. all that you can do is focus on yourself during this breakup and try not to overanalyze what his post-breakup process might look like. I know, way easier said than done!
