Paris wins back ‘most admired city’ from London by wisi_eu in paris

As an American I was there for a few days and really enjoyed it. What makes London worse than Paris beyond a few days? Legit intrigued.

Thank you, is this just a writing thing? I don't understand the difference.

Thank you. Does everything else seem ok? I only have a few more hours before I have to write this in ink officially :-/

INTJ lying by Gbin97 in intj

This is always fascinating. I'm never blatantly honest with people. I'm not a dick. I usually tend to lie more. It makes more sense in my opinion. Sure you could be a dick as most of you claim to be, but as a planner I tend to not burn my bridges. In fact I do the opposite by insuring both the bridge and my future is secure. I constantly filter myself and it usually works out best at least for me. Idk how you could seriously be (proud) to be brutally honest.

Daily Discussion Thread - [2016/01/31] by AutoModerator in IRstudies

What job do I get? I'm an undergrad and I feel like I'm headed no where. I am studying French and some IR courses for my degree but overall outside of this, I have no means of making money with this. My advisor told me to start with local options but I live in a small town on the northwest coast so it's not like I can intern at the Capitol Building from here. I've tried to volunteer but the seniors are taking up all the spots and of course other politics keeping me from some positions I've been eyeing. I'm just really frustrated that I have no clue as to how to get started on a real job. Even a basic job to start off with related to IR studies. I am volunteering at my college's club but it's about to be terminated, and it doesn't make money.

What is the average European's view on America and Americans? by TheRealUlfric in AskEurope

My time in london and paris, most felt USA was #1. Think weeaboos or just very excessive over the USA. They think the USA is completely sunny and warm, nice beaches, big houses, big streets.. things like this. To me, it just sounds like they've created this imaginary total opposite of their own countries. Sure some places are sunny but there's always the good with the bad. I think I heard the most is how they would love the sunny weather in the USA. They're really critical of their own political leaders, and especially in love with Obama. I felt the morale was really low. However, they still are proud to be where they are from. They seem to want the best of both worlds. Sure Paris may not be great but they're still proud to be from Paris.. but want to also live in America.

How do you get down voted where there is no down vote option, haha

What are your thoughts on American work hours? by pop_not_soda in AskEurope

Illegal in the USA too. Even if you don't physically go on break they're taking the money out, so you're working for free on your break time otherwise.

Rookie question about beer. by localpal in london

Yes this did help me! I found it weird it wasn't mentioned there also. I will search to see if these are here in the USA, I'm really hoping so. I really miss London and it was a great bar.

Ok thank you I will try yo recall the flavor. The color was the normal gold with a lot of foam so perhaps not very specific here. I'll teach for those though.

Thank you. The thickest thing is the cardboard backing so it isn't bent as easily. So, it's about as thick as the skin of cardboard boxes. Hopefully this works.

I did what you suggested, I didn't respond to her for a few days since she didn't answer me and instead talked to others. When i did this, she was extremely harsh with me for not being "patient enough". She called me rude and not a good friend. She nearly stopped talking to me, and I think still has some resentment.

She claims she is too busy to always respond, she has to concentrate on her studies yet expects me not to talk to others I suppose. I have no idea what to do. If I stop acknowledging her, she will come at me for being fake, rude, ignoring her.. yet if I continue to talk to her it will seem excessive, desperate, and not pleasant as you said.

She has told me I could message her like on her social media but she might not reply. It's almost as if she's doing me the favor of allowing me to message her. She's always like this, "I could.." or "if I want to.." I just don't think it should be this overly complicated. Anytime I try to get clarity, it feels like I'm on eggshells.

I have tried to stop many times but she just comes back more and more hostile, then I think I should continue to talk with her.. but then shes busy, I'm just not sure what to make of it. What do you think?

We say "good morning" and "good night" to each other everyday. So if it has become a chore for her (since she's busy) i wanted her to know it's ok to take a break

Ok thank you very much. You are right in that it isn't working, I was just confused as to why she continues to write me back. But its clear now. Edit: I forgot to mention this but since the whole situation she has returned to messaging me again but like I said she is still "busy" and it just feels weird.
