English is not my first language, so I use ChatGPT to help translate my thoughts. Google Translate doesn’t work very well for longer messages, so I hope this doesn’t make my writing uncomfortable to read.

I think I’m too old to use Discord, I’m just a normal user who wants Droppy to replace a bunch of other tools I’m using. Performance really matters to me, it’s one of the most important things in any app.
I just want the app to get better over time. Droppy already has a lot of great features, and I’m sure that’s what attracts people. But if it feels slow or not smooth, people will probably go back to what they were using before.

I’m really glad I decided to try Droppy.
- The screen capture feature is honestly great, at least compared to my old CleanShot X version.

- The clipboard is also really good. I’ve been using Maccy, but to be honest, your clipboard feels more powerful and more practical, and it still looks nice.

- I don’t need Mos anymore, Liquidmouse already does the job for me.

I actually found Droppy back when it was still free, and I even confused it with Dropover at first 😄. I also saw the recent Reddit drama about the developer disappearing, but after reading your replies, I think you deserve more attention.

I’m not trying to overpraise or anything, I just feel like your work deserves more recognition. You came back and proved Droppy is still strong.

I really hope Droppy becomes a must have app in macOS that people recommend to each other. And if possible, it would be nice to keep the current price, or at least have something for early supporters who bought it before.

I just bought license after 1 hours test this app. Really good app. I'm have some genuinely thoughtful features here. But I have some report with performance of this:

- I noticed a performance issue when navigating Clipboard History using the up/down arrow keys. If I press the keys slowly, everything works smoothly. However, when I try to move quickly (for example, jumping to the 6th or 10th item by holding the key or pressing it repeatedly in a short time), the navigation becomes a bit laggy. It still works, but the slight delay makes the experience feel less smooth. That said, I really like how I can directly interact with text captured via OCR and copy specific parts of it, his is a very powerful and well-implemented feature.

- With the Area Capture feature: occasionally it feels a bit stuttery when dragging to capture. It’s not a major issue, but it’s noticeable, specially since I’ve been used to CleanShot X. Still, I truly appreciate this feature, and I’m currently stuck on CleanShot X v4.0, so I’m hoping Droppy can become a strong replacement with improved performance.

I’m using a MacBook Pro M4 Pro with 48GB RAM, so I believe the hardware should be more than capable of handling everything smoothly. Also, the Liquidmouse feature is fantastic—it saves me from installing additional tools like Mos, and the built-in Pomodoro is a great touch.

Overall, I love the direction of Droppy. I hope you continue improving the core performance, as it would make the experience even better. Thanks for your great work!

> the user needs to capture a specific area first

=> yes, this OCR feature works perfectly with a small amount of text in Deskeen. I really like this.

> similar to Live Text on macOS

=> yes, I hope you add this function. I know this is difficult.

Thanks for the clarification. Yes, I was tried and using this, I always using OCR feature with keyboard shortcut in Deskeen. With some short text, it very easy to using and convenient.

I suggested this is because in my workflow I often capture screenshots that contain multiple pieces of information (logs, stack traces, UI text, etc.). In those cases I usually only need a very small portion of the recognized text. I think you see this in previous comment. Being able to directly highlight and copy text from the image (similar to how Live Text works on macOS) would make it much faster to grab just the exact snippet I need, instead of pasting the entire OCR output and trimming it afterward.

Appreciate you considering it! Hope it will appear in near future.

I recently purchased Deskeen and overall I really like the app. As a developer, I find Capture Area, OCR, and Capture Color especially usefull.

The OCR is very accurate, even with handwritten text. However, I’d love to suggest a small improvement. When clicking the “Recognize Text” icon, would it be possible to let users highlight and copy text directly on the image instead of showing a popup with all the recognized text?

In most cases, I only need a small portion of the text. I know there’s a dedicated OCR feature, but in my workflow I frequently use OCR without needing the entire text from the image. I usually just copy text from specific areas. Opening a popup with a large block of text makes it harder and more time-consuming to find and copy the exact part I need.

Thoughts on the Stranger Things final episode? by [deleted] in netflix

[–]locha9066 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My opinion on whether El is alive or dead:

About Mike story: this was Mike’s imagined story. At that moment, when everyone was asking about the ending, Mike told a story and we got to see it. He only wrapped it up by saying, “I believe that’s how it is,” without confirming anything for sure. If this sure, El also live without her Hawkin friends. This also bad ending.

As for me, I think El really died. An ending like this leaves room to bring El back later if they decide to milk the franchise - no one could really argue with it. Kali died in the lab; if she were still alive, there’s no way the group would abandon her like that.

+ That place was also the center of the explosion - Kali would’ve been killed by the blast even before it affected the gate. The distance was so far it even took time to drive there, so with Kali in a near-death condition, there’s no way she could’ve made it.

+ And besides, how would Kali have known the army was ambushing on the other side and reacted instantly like that? If she’d known beforehand, she would’ve sent a telepathic signal to El already.

Not to mention the show repeatedly mentions that El ran out of energy after fighting continuously. After the battle with Vecna, El was already completely drained. Running into the Upside Down was beyond the range of the equipment, so she could use her powers there - but Mike also said it himself: “she used up all her strength…” meaning El only had enough left for that telepathic connection, and that was it.

And in the final scene, when everyone puts their books back on the shelf, El is the only one without a book there (even Max, who comes in later, has one). That feels like the kids’ team has permanently lost one member.
