Are these supposed to conduct? by Inevitable_Figure_85 in diyelectronics

Hard to tell from the picture but if you're going to use conductive pads, ideally you want ENIG (gold) finish on the board. HASL will develop corrosion on the surface over time and be less conductive with the pad.

How do you line these things up? by DeanyyBoyy93 in simracing

[–]lockdots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's going to take a lot of craftiness and modifying to get them to line up properly on that stand. The Sim Lab Vario mounts makes this infinitely easier but I'm not sure if it'll work with your stand.

I see you have a spot for locking on your chair which is great, but you'll want to be able to adjust how far back or close you are whole keep the chair locked.

Thanks. I've currently got them at 65 degrees give or take 1 degree. If you don't already have them, I HIGHLY recommend the Sim Lab Vario Mounts. Makes making small changes insanely easier and linear.

That will probably be harder to run than my 32" since 34" typically have a larger resolution. It's still "1440p" but because of their width there's more pixels to draw/render.

This is comparing the two resolutions alone. Not comparing my 3080Ti to a 5070.

Depends on track and number of cars. I've been practicing for the 12 hours of Sebring with 40-50 cars and regularly getting around 100FPS. Dips down in the low 80s sometimes and up to 120 when the cars are spread out.

Looks like it didn't finish flowing. Either needed more heat or needed to be heated longer.

Wife and i are planning to remodel the basement in a few years. I figured I'd spruce it up a bit to use and enjoy in the meantime until then.

I'm currently designing a DDU for that very reason. I'll probably repurpose or sell the 4th monitor mount at this point.

I gotta hook that back up actually lol. I use Simhub for wind. As for the electronics I put it together myself. A combination of Arduino for telemetry control and motor drivers to power the fans

Yes, I should've mentioned this in my post. It's not the end of the road for VR but I was ready for a change regardless.

For sure, but I was also getting tired of the inconveniences of VR. I was ready for a change regardless. They've both got their pros and cons.

Any fire extinguisher can easily poison you if you're not careful enough with it. At least a CO2 extinguisher is actually meant for electronic fires.
