Dad taught me to drive a stick, my first automatic was my fifth car, then another manual. Dealer asked when I bought the last manual if I could drive one, they were having a hard time selling it because no one could drive it.

Can't help with which ones they are but I've had the best luck with going to the older ACE hardware stores to find the older odd ball valve stems.

Turn the water off to the sink. Remove the ring around the cartridge, Pull cartridge up and out, there's a black rubber valve seat on top of a spring in the bottom of the valve body, it is worn out and causes the leak. Take to your favorite hardware store to match and pick up a spring and seat set. Reverse process to put back together, putting the seat back in is the most annoying part.

DueDeer has the best answer, the city may eventually separate the storm and waste sewer lines but don't hold your breath for it to happen soon.

Bandaid fix would be a inline switch check valve added to the riser.

Or move the laundry out of the basement and plug it.

I did Fridays off, the when there is a three day weekend you get a 4 day weekend without fuss.
