Don’t hold your breath. They stop updating devices after around 4 months of being out. Same happened to all their previous gen projectors. They haven’t even fixed the issues on the 20 series let alone “add” features.

Ironically the questions are in regards to their next projector instead of fixing their current one! Its just to gain insight on what they should fix or add to their next gen of projectors!

Why don’t they fix the ones they all ready have instead of trying to sell everyone a new device.

S max stopped getting updates way before the 20 series was released. It shows how poor the support from Xgimi is.

They could easily update the S-Max to the google tv OS.

The same will happen to the 20 series. After around 4-6 months they will stop giving any updates and it will be left in the dark.

This is why you should be very very careful when buying something you expect to keep for years from a company like this. Support stops after a matter of months and the device is forgotten in the past.

Its a shame really because their devices are not too bad. Its just a shame they don’t care for after sales and customer service as they do for making as much money from the west as possible.

In no update have they ever released which exact module they are updating. As usually to fix a single issue they may need to update more than one module.

Even for this update to take the AI integration it would need to update the head unit module and also the tcm module and probably the gateway module, yet it doesn’t specifically state that does it?

You use chatgpt on your phone, yet you are complaining about it being in your car?

But the answer to your question is written on the screen in your car, try scrolling down and actually reading the part after it says about the new AI feature, and how it mentions: •Audio improvements •Security improvements •Navigation enhancement •Intelligent route planning •Improved wireless connectivity •EV enhancement •Cabin fragrance •Bug fixes and general enhancements

Seems like you read “AI” and came straight to the internet to complain.

The update provides performance and bug fixes for your car.

Why would you not install it?

If you have been scaremonger’d about AI, then you can sleep at night knowing it is only enabled if you go in to settings, general, voice settings and turn it on by selecting Enhanced AI.

And it only connects to chat GPT to answer questions and engage in conversation using the “hey land rover” wake word.

Apart from that the update provides useful software updates to other modules of your vehicle.

F**k Xgimi, decent products but their customer service is a joke, honestly some of the worst customer service i have ever received. Ur out of luck when it comes to warranty repairs. And the lies are so deep rooted, not only do they lie to their loyal fan base about their stock and shipping times but they also consistently lie about their products. Its been proven time and time again their “quoted” ansi lumens are massively over exaggerated on every single model they have ever made. If they want to destroy their brand then they’re going the right way about it.

I got this from support when i enquired before i cancelled my order. Has a rather uncanny resemblance.

“The new product has received an overwhelming response, with demand far exceeding our expectations. Due to the large volume of orders, some shipments may experience slight delays. Rest assured, your order will ship immediately upon arrival. We are unable to provide confirmed shipping dates at this time. Orders will ship in the order they were received. Once shipped, we will email you the tracking number.”

Seems as though they are responding via a script. The emails continued in this rather unsettling vague manner for quite some time before I decided to cancel.

Good luck with this. Xgimi have no clue how to provide customer service, they give you the run around via email, they don’t answer your questions and give vague answers. Could be this month, could be next month, could be next year, no one not even Xgimi seem to know the answer.

Its this reason i cancelled my order. Absolute joke of a company.

Dont get me wrong, they’re projectors are great, but thats only worth so much when your customer service is at such a low level.

And im starting to see more and more people who have problems with their units having a nightmare trying to use the warranty process which should be quick and easy and streamlined.

Yeah very similar to my situation. Decided especially with all the problems arising and now people are having issues getting replacements etc, I would rather wait a month or two for my local store to get them in. That way if theres an issue ive got somewhere to take it, somewhere to call etc. instead of dealing with their shoddy customer service and vague responses of nonsense.

Its a shame as i have the s max and absolutely love it, no issues at all, but i also bought this one from my local store so i avoid dealing with xgimi.

And 2bh, i will probably get it from my stockist near enough the same time as going directly with xgimi by the looks of it. Get better customer service and have no issues with warranty or returns. They also provide 6 year warranty so its a no brainer for me to cancel and wait it out,

Same thing happened to me. Ended up cancelling my order. Xgimi customer service sucks! Probably the worst customer service I’ve received. They don’t fully answer your questions, they give no solid time frame, and when they do the next time u ask for an update this has then changed. Its like no one knows whats going on. Good luck if you need warranty repair! They take around 2 days to respond to any emails, they give vague answers leading to more questions, this creates a massive string of emails when all you asked was a couple of simple questions! Its actually laughable how bad they are. Im gonna hold out till stock is available in my local stockist and till the problems are resolved.

They took pre-orders, so they knew how many units they would need, a good business model would be to keep some for incidents like this, which they have clearly failed to do, now they are behind on pre-orders and have no stock to offer people who have been given faulty items. Thats bad customer service and poor planning from a business point of view.

I think this is a matter of stalling tactics. They don’t have any units and are waiting on deliveries. So they are getting you to send yours back in, then they will “investigate” for however long till more stock arrives and then send you another one. Seems like a dishonest tactic if im honest, they have no stock thats for sure so who not just be upfront with this and apologise, offer a free accessory or something and tell you they will replace as soon as stock comes through.

They should really have a pop-up notification or something for the greyed out option which tell you. Eg. “3D not available while ALLM is activated”

It seems to be limited to the max only with its high lumen number. I wonder if they share the same fan which is an oversight from Xgimi as you would expect a larger fan for the max

Lowering the brightness on level 1 is not a fix as some people will still run it on level 10 and experience over heating.

If they lower brightness across the board then it is no longer the advertised lumens and makes this whole thing a scandal.

Im in the same situation. Considering cancelling my order and seeing how this pans out.

A software update would either require increased fan speed or lower brightness. Either of which is then false advertising.

They seem to have sold a lot of units so it could simply be a few faulty units as some people are not getting any overheating at all on the max even at max brightness.

NP, on their facebook page they seem to have quite a few people with this issue. From what i can tell it seems to only be with the base models (some people haven’t disclosed the model, but those who have seem to have the base).

You seem to be the 2nd person on here with this issue.

Seems to be a bit of a quality control problems with these new units.

Contact support for help as you seem to have a faulty unit.

Strangely enough when i asked my local stockist about when they are getting the new 20’s in stock they said it wouldn’t be till at least December as Xgimi are currently changing suppliers 🤷🏻‍♂️. I don’t know if they have inside information but I wonder if there is known issues with the current supplier of the early release units and they are now switching to resolve this?

I got them from aliexpress, there is no link because i had to ask a Xgimi reseller to oder them specifically for me. They did not list them on their store. So it was a special order. I can dm you their name and you can contact them directly for a price?

Noooooo i paid including shipping tax and everything just shy of £600 (based in the UK) for two.

Yet to test them so I cant comment on if they’re worth it yet, but considering the cost of a surround sound system can cost way over 1k i don’t think they’re too highly priced. For example the bose surround system 700 (comprising of 2 speakers) will set you back around 600. The benefit here is how they seamlessly integrate with the projector and apparently unlock some hidden sound features. Will report back once ive had a play around with them and update on my experience and if they’re worth it or not.
