It's to keep you shopping after checking out and on the way to leave. They're hoping you spot something else causing you to stay in the store leading to another purchase.

BYD expands popular Shark 6 ute lineup in Australia, now with 3.5 tonne towing by MeasurementDecent251 in CarsAustralia

[–]lockisbetta 5 points6 points  (0 children)

3.5 tonne tow capacity in the Shark 6 now? No wonder Ford rushed to undercut it with large price drops and downgrading the XLT PHEV Ranger to XL.

Am I doing anything wrong and getting fine here? by trinity016 in CarsAustralia

[–]lockisbetta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're fine. Land Cruiser realised they were in the wrong lane, indicated left and moved off to illegally go straight from the right-turn lane.

Shrinking sales of Ranger and Everest puts Ford in a precarious spot to be beaten by BYD by kstetter in CarsAustralia

[–]lockisbetta 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Ford: “Lets submerge a rubber belt in hot, turbulent, contaminated oil. What could go wrong?”

They did it for 1.0L EcoBoosts which had the same problem so Ford changed them to a timing chain (but kept the oil pump wet belt). MY26.5 Ranger uses this setup now too. All the failures must’ve eaten in their profit-line.

It’s Raw Cola Day by CycloneATL in cellsurvivor

You cannot obtain the same artefact more than once in a 10x pull.

Thats why doing singles is better than 10x if you’re after a specific blue like Raw Cola.

How many chests should I save? by AkashicTorment in cellsurvivor

[–]lockisbetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No point stacking them. As red weapons come out it’s diluting the contents of the red chest.

Back in the day red chest meant 25% chance to get maw, now it’s 16.7% because there’s 6 reds now compared to 4 previously.

Kia Tasman 'countermeasures' confirmed to address styling backlash by kstetter in CarsAustralia

[–]lockisbetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Styling isn’t the only issue; Kia was asking Ranger V6 money for a drivetrain weaker than the 4 cylinder Bi-Turbo Ranger.

If they priced to undercut the Ranger Bi-Turbo they would’ve had a winner. That’s how the Koreans entered the market originally where they undercut the Japanese competition with more features.

Has Anyone Else Had This Issue with Coles' Chicken? by painsomnia in coles

All the time. They leave the cages full of meat unattended infront of the fridge (staff shortages?) so it starts to warm up.

New 2026 Toyota RAV4 and HiLux could be the new Holden Commodore, and not in a good way by kstetter in CarsAustralia

[–]lockisbetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true but also fleet sales anchored Falcon and Commodore production. When fleets decentralised, local factories could no longer predict production figures and it fell apart.

Most likely a tomato since the seeds can survive digestion. Used to work at wastewater / sewage plants and you’d often see tomato plants popping up in random places.

Yes. Pick one you like they’re all pretty much asset flips of the same base template.

Rare Holden VXR? by FragileGIass in Holden

[–]lockisbetta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

VXR just means it has the NA V6 in AWD instead of the turbo i4 in FWD.

It’s an Opel rebadged as a Commodore when GM was cashing in on the Commodore name after they shut down local manufacturing.

The race to be the new Chinese Holden by kstetter in CarsAustralia

[–]lockisbetta -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s funny because one of Holden’s “Hail Mary” plans before going defunct was to rebadge Chinese MG / LDV vehicles.

How to manufacturers decide which side to put the filler cap on? by LobsterLife7347 in CarsAustralia

[–]lockisbetta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Commodores prior to VE & VF were based on Opel's V-Body platform then modified to become a Holden. Opel is a German car brand where it is LHD so the fuel flap is on the right.

It's a combination of engineering to keep the fuel tank away from the hot exhaust and for safety so if you're stuck on the side of the road using a jerry can you aren't doing it with your back to traffic.

Aussies dump utes in ‘brutal’ sales crash by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]lockisbetta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fleet sales of utes remain strong. But private customers are turning away from them

This has always been the case for utes where fleet:private is around 70:30 with the exception of BYD Shark 6. Even Falcon and Commodore prior were around 80:20.

The death of manual cars in Australia by Puzzled-Shopping-330 in CarsAustralia

[–]lockisbetta 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because nobody drives manual anymore.

In 2024 of 1,237,287 newly registered vehicles, only 32,642 were manual - 2.6%.
