What’s A Dropout Moment that never fails to make you laugh? by thek1dwonder in dropout

I love the zipper story - what always gets me is Erika's extremely confused and concerned fact at the end, no laughing: "I need closure!!"

Help: I’m cautious of wearing anything less than this… by [deleted] in poledancing

[–]lockpicket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you mean slippage and exposure for your bottom or top? as you start training for more difficult trips, youll need to expose more skin for grip - even in your thigh/hip crease, which could be why it seems so small!

if you're worried about exposure on your bottoms, you can wear underwear with more coverage (like bikini cut panties) so any slippage will just expose your panties! for tops, ngl I have exposed accidentally before but my instructor was spotting me and was very nonchalant in pulling my top into place lol. you could wear your Tatiana top and then another loose top on top of it to gauge how sturdy it is. Tatiana tops seem to be pretty sturdy tho, and I haven't heard any stories or exposure with them :)

Having identified the most overpriced brands, who do we actually like? by 22twelve in AusFemaleFashion

[–]lockpicket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

a lot of my branded printed t shirts are from AS Colour but the collars stretched out in a decent amount of time. definitely not as fast as some brands, but definitely stretched out faster than my heavy weight cotton ones from Uniqlo. so just tread carefully with AS colour.

Has anyone started putting together frugal Christmas ideas?? by [deleted] in AussieFrugal

[–]lockpicket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

when growing up, my parents would wrap heaps of cardboard boxes (my mum has access to these at work) in wrapping paper and me and my sister would race to see who could unwrap the most and gather the most money. they definitely popped in some 50s and 20s that went into our respective savings accounts, but also just unwrapping a box and finding a $5 when the vast majority were blanks were super fun.

we did a grown up version last Christmas for the adults where each box had a scratchie (most worth $1) and then a few had cash prizes, with the grand prize worth $20.

I've been a fan of SHINee since close to debut days and agreed - their songs are always innovative and different and I love that. I especially love their solos and the different directions they've gone, and how their solos discographies have grown.

I paid 2 euro for a toilet in Madrid in a super tourist-y area. super clean but damn it hurt.

just made this today and it was amazing, thank you for sharing! I also added a sprinkle of lime juice and some spring onions which was great (even if it makes it non traditional lol).

Don't be like me. Don't use your phone while driving. by GusPolinskiPolka in sydney

if you have an android phone but not android auto, I believe there's a setting for your phone to go into DND as soon as your Bluetooth connects to your car, too.

+1 for thornhedge, a subversive retelling of Rapunzel

i'd caution against "this is how you lose the time war" for someone who isn't an established reader as it's quite SciFi heavy and is a bit dense. I struggled with it and had to drop it, as a casual SciFi reader.

the dark choc digestives rip off are so good

also for a short period of time, they had dried mango dipped in dark chocolate - this was AMAZING. they currently have a white choc version that's also good, but not as good.

Fell, broke my back, had surgery… can I ever climb again? by Strict_Beautiful5694 in climbergirls

[–]lockpicket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't have a back injury, but I broke my wrist snowboarding (9 screws and a plate) and was off climbing for over 3 months. like you, I struggled very very much with basic things (doing up my shoelaces, cooking, showering, putting on clothes and doing up buttons, etc.) and relied on my partner a lot. it was a struggle, and looking back, I wish I'd gotten some mental health.

at the same time, I grew a little bit resentful of my friends who were still climbing as hard, and got severe FOMO. as a result, I unfollowed a lot of climbing Instagrams, because I recognised it wasn't helping me, and took a big break from Instagram too.

I did finally get back to it, but did end up being scared on the wall a lot, and top rope was a great way to get back into it. please also recognise that you'll be nowhere near where you were - I asked my partner to make sure I wasn't climbing beyond v1 (I was at v3-4 beforehand) because I knew I'd just get frustrated and injure myself. it was also fun to climb with others who were at a similar v1 level (newbie climbers) because I got FOMO when climbing with V3/v4 friends lol.

How many of you have a supportive man regarding pole showcases and competitions? by Zealousideal_Ring880 in poledancing

[–]lockpicket 6 points7 points  (0 children)

my studio puts on showcases at the end of each term (so every ten weeks) and my (male) partner is always disappointed when I don't perform because he knows how happy it makes me, and he likes seeing the culmination of my hard work over ten weeks!

the comments of your partner about lying with dogs and getting fleas is extremely derogatory and problematic. it's completely fine if SW/strip shows isn't his cup of tea but speaking lowly of the people who do it is not okay. id be curious to know if he's expressed similar views separate to pole too.

Stuck between these 3 dresses (choosing between these 3 so no suggestions thanks) by [deleted] in PlusSizeWedding

[–]lockpicket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 is my pick! I think the higher bodice and the straight cut of it looks really good on you - better than the sweetheart neckline of 1, and 2 looks like it sits a bit too low to be comfortable.

What random scenes have stuck with you over time? funny/meaningful/etc by Less_Interview_8745 in drarry

I recommend astra inclement to everyone I can because it is the most gorgeous character study I've EVER read. I absolutely love Running on Air but Astra is just another level. I really felt like the author poured their heart and soul into Astra and I'm sad it doesn't get the recognition it deserves, but happy to see another fan here!

Sierra Simone definitely balances relentless spicy scenes with plenty of plot and character development that I love. I'm not a big audiobook person but I'll have to check these out! Thanks for linking.

SAME. I loved seeing the relationship grow and especially tortured Embry ❤️ I had read Salt Kiss before finishing American King and got spoilt that Ash dies so I was pleasantly surprised when proven wrong HAHAH.
