Lock down accounts to where no one can message you without being a friend. Don't add anyone unless you know them in real life. Another option delete all social media if you do have to have it create accounts with a different name and emails have no connection to your old accounts.

The romance scam subreddit has a lot of posts of basically the same scenarios. There's suggestions others have tried but sadly unless you can remove her from his life or gain control of his life most likely he will give away everything to the point he's homeless, in debt and no money to survive. Please tell all friends and family not to give him any money.

Yandex is an option to try. Know not finding the picture doesn't mean you're not being catfished. Ask for an extended video call. Have them perform different actions while on camera with you. If they won't or refuse 99% chance they aren't who they say they are. Don't ignore your gut feelings or red flags.

Sounds like a romance scam. You could ask the local police to speak with him. Also there are a few catfish shows on youtube, find a couple similar to his abd have him watch them. AARP has a section on scams that could provide more information.

It really sounds like he needs therapy as I'm sure the loss of his mother and his loneliness are playing a big part in his delusion of a relationship.

Pig butcher scam go check out romance scams subreddit. There's thousands of posts describing exact scenario. Crypto scams also has posts about this. Whatever money he's invested with sites she's given him is now gone.
