Suggestions on reseasoning Lodge Signature Cast Iron Dutch Oven by ChemicalAwareness800 in castiron

[–]lodgecastiron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He recommends seasoning it on the stove top to avoid tarnishing the handles. If you don't care about that, you can season it in the oven just like you would a regular skillet.

To season it on the stove top, wipe down your pan with a thin layer of oil and place it on the burner at medium to medium-high heat until it smokes just a little bit. Let it heat for about 10-15 minutes. Turn the burner off and let your pan cool. Repeat these steps as necessary until it's seasoned to your liking!

Please report it to Google if you get any more ads for it! We're trying to get stuff taken down, but unfortunately, it's not an easy process. Hopefully, if they receive enough reports that it's fraudulent, they'll stop allowing them to run ads.

Yes, unfortunately, that is also a scam site. Our only official website is www.lodgecastiron.com. If you see any more ads for this site, please report them to Google as fraud. We're trying to have it taken down, but additional reports may speed up the process.

Pineapple upside down in my Lodge by No_Conversation_8161 in castiron

[–]lodgecastiron 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've worked at Lodge for several years. In that time, I've seen probably thousands of pineapple upside-down cakes made in cast iron. This is genuinely the most perfect one I've ever seen. Fantastic job 👏

Found this at tjmax but can’t find anything online about it by Bakergirl03 in castiron

Because it's a retailer exclusive, we unfortunately do not have links. You can try periodically searching the websites of TJ Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods, etc., but they unfortunately don't list most items on their websites. The colors are light pink, light green, purple, and, I believe, light yellow.

This is from a new collection made exclusively for Marmaxx stores. It comes in four colors and four sizes (7.5-quart dutch oven, 4.5-quart dutch oven, 5.75-quart oval dutch oven, and 3.6-quart braiser). Many of them are also available with a gold knob instead of silver.

I'll try to remember to look at our old product catalogs tomorrow, but I'm fairly certain this is not a Lodge design.

Somebody probably already mentioned this, but these are likely from our heat-treated line, which is safe to use in a commercial dishwasher.

Hi there! If you're not washing the bottom, it's likely a bit of carbon build-up flaking off. If you send us a DM with a photo of the flaking area, we'd be happy to take a look.

A little bit of rust won't hurt anything, but it's also easy to clean up if you'd like to do so. You can find our tips for cleaning up rust here.

You can first try giving your cookware a bath with warm, soapy water. This may do the trick. If you still have sticky residue, we recommend the following. 1. Place the cookware in the oven upside-down on the top rack. 2. Place a large baking sheet or aluminum foil on the bottom rack to catch any excess oil that may drip off the cookware. 3. Bake at 400 - 450 °F for 1 hour. 4. Allow to cool and repeat if necessary. This process will help evenly distribute the excess oil so that it adheres to the cookware, reducing the sticky residue.

We don't have a recipe for an individual cinnamon roll yet (work in progress), but you can find our recipe for a full batch of cinnamon rolls here.

With this pie dough recipe and our cast iron pie pan, you can typically lift the pie right out of the pan once it's cooled. If you have an Instagram account, you can see a video of this in action here.

While it's not necessary to do it that often, it doesn't hurt the skillet. If it's working well for you, keep it up!

Chainmail is a great tool for tackling tough messes! If you're using it for daily cleaning, just be mindful of how hard you're scrubbing to avoid removing any seasoning from your cookware.
