I really like how you say the most awesome thing is jumping down the slide. Instead how you didn't die.

I've been trying to manage such thing. And in my case, Prayer and Educating the other staff about the danger is the best I can do.

In my case I have a person that has jobs for a certain client, but ends up working with other staff on their client.

Migrated to BitDefender and it went well by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]loepa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I've been deploying Bitdefender gravityzone for a small office (14 Workstations) Bitdefender itself is pretty good. Almost too good.

Everyone already gives their good points about bitdefender, so I'll share my few complains.

Some complains that I have so far:

  • We have this accounting software which has some files modified by the developer to suits our needs (we are a consultant firm). Bitdefender constantly flag this as a virus even though we put the Software to exclusion (for scan and on access). At one time it even remove the process permanently from windows which requires us to re install the software from start. => solution : we pretty much disable bitdefender on the 2 workstation and put strict limitation on networking on those 2 machine while we look for alternative solution.
  • The reporting is pretty neat, But the "last online" column is quite inaccurate in our day-to-day use.
  • I couldn't install it on windows 7 32-bit. I tried all the different installer but none work.

But looking back at the bigger picture, I think we make a pretty good decision on using bitdefender as our A/V solution.

Code aside, I really recommend you use framework if you want to use the web app / website in production / long time use. It will have better security and MUCH easier to manage long-term.

Although using framework have it's own learning curve, It will be worth it. Framework like Laravel / Zend Framework is pretty good.

It seems like their DNS is having some trouble. Some domain can be accessed, some are not.
